Some of the very best games out there have cribbed elements from what came before, such as Astro Bot feeling like the Sony equivalent of Super Mario.However, those sort of games typically offer their own spin or unique element that differentiate them from their inspirations. But sometimes an imitation can be so blatant, and so derivative, that you have to wonder if the people behind it foolishly believed no one would notice.The latest example of this is with action adventure game Light Of Motiram, which was announced earlier today by Chinese conglomerate Tencent and has quickly, and understandably, drawn comparisons to the Horizon games on PlayStation.The key art depicts a ruined but lush post-apocalyptic world, with a young woman surveying it whos dressed almost identically to Aloy, protagonist of Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel.Easily the most contentious similarity is how Light Of Motirams world will be populated by mechanical beasts called mechanimals. While the concept of robot animals isnt unique to Horizon, had we shown you the designs shown in screenshots and the trailer with no context, youd be forgiven for thinking theyre from a new Horizon sequel or the upcoming online spin-off.The only real difference is that Light Of Motiram is billed as more of a survival game with an emphasis on co-op multiplayer rather than a single-player adventure like Horizon Zero Dawn.This means gathering resources and building bases, so its also got some hints of Palworld in there, with how you can tame mechanimals to either aid you in battles or assist with production.Given Palworld itself went viral upon its reveal for being deemed a Pokmon rip-off, maybe Light Of Motiram was hoping for the same thing.The difference, though, is that Palworld combined cute and colourful pokmon-like monsters with realistic guns, making for an eye-catching juxtaposition, Light Of Motiram doesnt have anything like that and is pretty unadventurous in how it apes Horizon.Plus, Palworlds Pokmon similarities have earned it a lawsuit from Nintendo, so why would anyone be trying to follow its footsteps at the moment?Regardless, the obvious Horizon similarities seem to be all anyones talking about. Terminally ill Borderlands 4 fan calls game amazing after playing it earlyMichael BeckwithPublished November 28, 2024 11:54amUpdated November 28, 2024 11:54am Hopefully a more in-depth trailer will come sooner rather than later (2K)Gearbox is keeping Borderlands 4 under wraps but has made an exception for one fan, after he rallied support from the community.Considering all Gearbox has shown of Borderlands 4 so far is an incredibly brief and vague teaser trailer, at Gamescom 2024, youd think the game was still a long way off from launch.But not only are Gearbox and publisher Take-Two aiming to have Borderlands 4 out next year (alongside GTA 6 and Mafia: The Old Country), but its apparently in enough of a playable state for one fan to try it out and deem it amazing.Said fan, one Caleb McAlpine, was diagnosed with stage four cancer this past August and since hes unsure if hell live long enough to play Borderlands 4, he asked to experience the game early. Sure enough, the Borderlands community shared his story and Gearbox recently granted his request.According to McAlpine, 37, he and a friend were flown to Gearboxs main studio in Texas on November 20, where they were treated to a tour and met with some of the staff, including CEO Randy Pitchford.We got to play what they have for Borderlands 4 so far and it was amazing, wrote McAlpine on Reddit. I dont know if I will be around when the game comes out but I just want to say thank you to all of you for all of your love and support and for helping in making this happen. It truly was an amazing experience and it was just awesome.Given McAlpine doesnt go into much detail on what he played, he likely had to sign a non-disclosure agreement so as not to give too much away. Although the final release could very easily look and play quite differently by the time it comes out.Also, given how little Borderlands has changed over the last three games its not hard to imagine what the new one might look and play like.Regardless, it is sweet to know McAlpine got his wish, and he at least sounds pleased with how Borderlands 4 is turning out.More TrendingTheres also no jealousy or hostility in the Reddit comments, with fellow fans being happy for McAlpine, offering encouragement and hope hell overcome his cancer so he can enjoy the full game.When will Borderlands 4 release?As for when Borderlands 4 could feasibly come out, you have to imagine it wont be until the tail end of 2025, if only to give Gearbox enough time to start hyping it up (and waiting till everyone forgets the movie).Considering GTA 6 is meant to be launching in the autumn of 2025, its not clear what Borderlands 4, or indeed any big name game due next Christmas, is going to do to avoid being obscured by its shadow.However, since Take-Two will know the release date, and can share that with Gearbox, you can be sure that at least wont accidentally be coming out at the same time. The client who has run its headquarters for a long time, wanted to create a different atmosphere at a new store. It was intended to escape its image by changing the store created with a wood-centered warm feeling into processed cold materials and tone. Unlike the old, white was used as the base, and a gray tone was added, to give a sense of depth to the white space that could look flat. The finishes of metal, gray marble, and glossy concrete used in the space reveal the opposite charm and aesthetics of wood. SUS was used for the make-up table, and the back wall of the make-up table was finished with white stone plastering. The soft stone on the wall that touches the waiting area at the entrance atmosphere looks like stone, and its texture emits the antique feeling of the old house. A unique space is completed simply by excluding wood that occupies a lot of sides in the existing beauty shop.Save this picture!The design team agonized over the identity of the hair shop. The design team perceived LE'EVO as a brand that focuses on the space, design, and hairdressers' service mind for customer satisfaction. In particular, they paid a lot of attention to the movement line and the gap between make-up tables. A partition was installed at the entrance so that the eyes of the customer entering the space would not meet those of the customer receiving the service. However, its height was adjusted so that the space did not look stuffy. In this way, the design team divided open space and private space through partitions and different materials, making the customers perceive them implicitly.
