• Trump tells Musk: 'Get more aggressive'
    www.businessinsider.com
Trump says he'd like to see Elon Musk "get more aggressive."Musk is the face of DOGE, which has upended Washington with its budget cuts and layoffs.Musk responded to Trump's comment a few hours later. As far as President Donald Trump is concerned, Elon Musk's DOGE isn't cutting enough. On Saturday, Trump praised Musk's efforts to streamline government operations and reduce the size of the federal bureaucracy and then called on his ally to do even more."Elon is doing a great job, but I would like to see him get more aggressive," Trump wrote in all caps on his social media platform, TruthSocial.A few hours later, Musk responded on his social media platform, X."Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump's instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation."During a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday, Trump called Musk a "patriot" for his government work.In just over a month in office, Trump and the White House DOGE office have pushed through buyout offers and laid off swaths of staffers at the US Agency for International Development, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and elsewhere.DOGE on Thursday said it had already saved taxpayers $55 billion, mostly through canceled contracts, though it has made some mistakes in its accounting, like reporting a contract was worth billions when it was actually worth millions.Musk says his ultimate goal is to cut at least $1 trillion or a "best-case outcome" of $2 trillion from the federal budget."Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary, a vocal supporter of Trump's economic policies, also said during a CNN interview on Thursday that Musk should go even further in his efforts."I don't think he's cutting enough," O'Leary said. "When you find a broken company, whatever you think you should cut, you add 20 percent more to it. Then you see how the organization adjusts, and you can always hire back.""There's always going to be an opportunity to criticize some cut that was too deep or the wrong person got cut," he continued. "But my point is, as long as you keep the mandate in place, keep cutting, keep hacking, keep slashing. This is good for government."Musk's move-fast and break-things effort to disrupt and reinvent the federal government is having a significant real-world impact across the country. In addition to the thousands who have left their jobs and are now unemployed, many farmers and organizations that rely on federal funding are seeking clarification on whether invoices for completed work will be paid.Legal challenges to Trump's slew of executive actions have added to the uncertainty federal workers now face.

  • Daredevil: Born Again Brings Hawkeyes Swordsman Into Its Brutal World
    gizmodo.com
Much of the marketing forDaredevil: Born Againhas centered on the return of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, with a splash of Jon Bernthals Punisher for good measure. But the show appears to also be pulling in some non-Netflix MCU characters into its orbit, with one such addition being Jack Duquesne? Yes, if you remember Tony Daltons charming, dopey sword pervert from Hawkeye, hell be showing up inBorn Again, making him the second MCU transplant alongside Mohan Kapurs Yusuf Khan.Per Variety, Daltons got a two-episode stint as Jack Duquesne during the shows first season. Initially in Hawkeye, he was Kate Bishops stepfather-to-be, with the show teasing him as a criminal mastermind Kate and Clint were going up against. In the end, it turned out Kates mom Eleanor was actually the one throwing in with Fisk, and Jack was actually kind of a lovable goofball? Last we saw him, hed just used his sword-fighting skills on the Tracksuit Mafia and perked up when a LARPer friend of Clint and Kates asked if he had any interest in the activity. Why isnt Jack in something like, say, a second season of Hawkeye? Marvels TV head Brad Winterbaum told Entertainment Weekly the studio is considering second seasons for several one-and-dones, so its not off the table. The conversation mainly concernedAgatha All Along, but Winterbaums logic applied more generally to Marvels limited series: the right idea needs to come along for it to be made. The TV division is looking for opportunities to bring back characters like Agatha and the Hawkeyes, while also committing more to TV beyond limited series. As we develop things for the future, he said, I think theyre going to be designed to be multiple seasons, have more of a pattern, and be able to be released annually. If a second season ofHawkeyehappens, and things align properly, it may be a way to get more Jack. Until then, hell be inDaredevil: Born Againwhen its first season premieres on March 4hopefully he and his mustache survive whatever that show throws at him. Want more io9 news? Curved Attic is the renovation project of a unique property in the centre of Valencia with privileged views over the old Turia riverbed. The architecture of the building itself, with a circular envelope, allows these views to extend along the house, being a characteristic of such strength that it gives its name to the project and around which the main idea of the project is developed. From a first approach to the project, the intention was to clear the interior of the house to allow views of the outside from almost every point. This involved placing the most used areas (day zone, kitchen and master bedroom) attached to the faade, as well as demolishing an overbuilt mezzanine that compressed the living area, leaving it now with a double height that underlines the sloping roof of the building.Save this picture!Save this picture! To further focus the heart of the house on those views, the terrace was given different uses so that any use indoors the house was replicated outdoors. Thus we find not only an outdoor living and dining area, but also a solarium (replicating the interior bedroom), an outdoor bath and an open kitchen that joins the interior kitchen to double its surface area through a hidden window. Another point of interest in the project is the spiral staircase that connects the main floor entrance hall with the upper floor, which is less used (study, reading room and guest bedroom). This staircase has been designed not only as a functional element but also as a decorative element, almost like a sculpture that greets the visitor with its envelope of large black curved iron surfaces and interior steps of natural wood.Save this picture! The materiality of the house continues with the idea of the project, which is none other than to focus attention on the views of the Turia, and therefore aims to act as a backdrop without elements that distract attention or stand out from the views. The sloping ceiling is covered with natural wood, evoking the cozy atmosphere of a cabin, and the walls are covered with soft-toned mortar for a calm enjoyment of the views over Valencia.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture!Project gallerySee allShow lessAbout this officeDestudioOfficePublished on February 22, 2025Cite: "tico Curvo / Destudio" [tico Curvo / Destudio] 22 Feb 2025. First announced during the PlayStation Showcase 2021 event, Marvel's Wolverine is set in the same universe as the Marvel's Spider-Man series of games, and it stars Marvels most famous, near-invulnerable mutant, James "Logan" Howlett. However, little to no news about the games story and gameplay has been officially revealed since the games announcement, and development may have encountered setbacks following hacks and staff departures. Despite these potential setbacks, theres one aspect of Wolverines over-50-year-long history that many fans would like to see referenced in some form in the game: Old Man Logan.

  • Apple icon designer Susan Kare creates iconic keys and jewelry collection for Asprey Studio
    www.yankodesign.com
If you were alive during the 80s and the original Macintosh was first released, you probably saw their iconic computer iconography in real time. They were pretty distinguishable from the existing computer graphics at that time and that was due to the fact that they were designed by computer iconographer Susan Kare. She was trained in fine arts rather than graphic design so she was able to bring something really creative and different to the typefaces and icons that became entwined with Apple. They have become part of our visual computer language even to this day.Designers: Susan Kare and Asprey StudioNew icons designed by Susan Kare are now brought to life to a unique collection by Asprey Studio. She has designed 32 icons that reimagine technology as a medium for exploring the precious aspects of life. Called the Esc Keys, these icons invite us to escape somewhere where technology and art intertwine. The name Esc Keys is a play on words, drawing inspiration from the esc key on a computer keyboard and the broader concept of escapism. It encourages us to reflect on the humanity that exists beyond the digital world, reminding us that technology can be a tool to appreciate the beauty and meaning in our lives.Theses 43 new icons are available as enamelled images either on sterling silver or gold vermeil computer keys that are handcrafted by the Asprey Studio Workshop. They can be mounted on a mechanical keyboard, which is pretty popular right now for those who like to experiment with their computer accessories. Its also available as a necklace pendant, also in sterling silver or gold vermeil, also handcrafted by the workshop. It transforms these icons into wearable art to bridge the worlds of technology, design, and craftsmanship.Whenever you purchase any of the Esc Keys collection, you also get the corresponding digital artwork inscribed on the blockchain, adding another element into this interplay between the tangible and the virtual. Some of the icons in the collection include various flower designs, the heart icon, a book, wave icon, love letters, several animal icons, an alien, and the Panic! key that she famously installed on her own personal keyboard. This collection, then, is more than just a nostalgic nod to the past. Its a contemporary exploration of how digital symbols can be transformed into objects of beauty and meaning. By bridging the gap between the digital and physical realms, Kare and Asprey Studio invite us to reconsider our relationship with technology, reminding us that even in the most technical of landscapes, there is room for artistry, humanity, and a touch of whimsical escape. The post Apple icon designer Susan Kare creates iconic keys and jewelry collection for Asprey Studio first appeared on Yanko Design.

  • AT&T will let you split your bill with people on your plan
    www.theverge.com
AT&T has introduced SplitPay, a new payment option that lets those sharing a phone plan with others split their payment line-by-line, so no one person has to pay the entire bill. The company says the program is available for select postpaid wireless plans, and that those using SplitPay can still get multi-line discounts. It sounds like a nice idea, especially if youve ever had the experience of bothering people youre sharing a plan with for their part of a bill that you pay. As for what happens if not everyone pays up, AT&T says the account holder is still responsible for the bill, and late payments could still result in extra fees or suspended service. The company writes that it will text each payer a payment link and what they owe when a billing cycle begins, and says it will notify the primary payer about any outstanding payments prior to the bills due date. To set up SplitPay, you can head to AT&Ts SplitPay page, select the account holder, and then pick the individual lines and devices, like smartwatches or tablets, you want to assign to each payer, according to a help page on the program.
