To make the game accessible to even more players, the Platinum edition, which includes the game itself and two expansions, will be available for $0.99 for a limited time. The Preservation Program, with a slogan of Make games live forever, aims to ensure that classic games can find a safe place to free them from being forgotten while maintaining compatibility with modern systems. • Rumor: Valves New Half-Life Game Could Be Announced in 2025
    cgshares.com
The string of rumors and speculations indicating that Valve might be working on a new Half-Life game and not just any Half-Life game, but Half-Life 3 of all things presists into 2025, with Tyler McVicker, the YouTuber whose findings in August 2024 reignited the communitys interest in the topic in the first place, presenting a new report suggesting that it is entirely possible for the developer to officially acknowledge and announce HLX where X most likely stands for 3 sometime this year.As stated by Tyler, he and his team combed through the code from Dota 2s recent update, uncovering a series of engine changes typical of the final stages of a production cycle, namely optimization and polish. Based on some of the code strings found in the update, available here, the YouTuber speculates that HLX is a single-player first-person shooter with heavily upgraded and enhanced physics, described as an evolution of Half-Life 2s systems, groundbreaking in and of themselves by 2004 standards.Purportedly, features like flammability, buoyancy, deformations, fluid simulation, vehicle simulation, NPC reactions, and entity AI have all been greatly improved for HLX, with human NPCs reportedly boasting an entire mood-based system where their visual, auditory, and even olfactory surroundings can affect their behavior and responses. Moreover, NPCs are also apparently capable of dynamically adjusting their navigation meshes if the maps environment has been altered by destructibility. As a cherry on top, the latest update for Deadlock, which changed the number of lanes in the game from four to three, featured the hlx_fsr3 string of code, referring to AMDs upscaling and frame generation technology something typically only found when a project is nearing its completion. Taking all this into consideration, along with the previous rumors that surfaced last year, Tyler speculates that Valve might actually announce HLX sometime in 2025, emphasizing that this is just his prediction and not an indication that he knows the studios release schedule.ValveWatch the full report here and dont forget to join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post Rumor: Valves New Half-Life Game Could Be Announced in 2025 appeared first on CG SHARES.

  • Xbox Missed Out On Jade Empire Franchise Potential, BioWare Dev Claims
    www.gamespot.com
BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk has claimed that Xbox could've had another potential franchise hit in the RPG Jade Empire if it wasn't for Microsoft's short-sighted advice. In an interview with the My Perfect Console podcast, Zeschuk said that Microsoft convinced BioWare to release Jade Empire at the tail-end of the original Xbox's lifecycle. "It was the worst advice; absolute moronic advice from them. The stupidest thing ever," he explained. He claimed that Jade Empire should've been an Xbox 360 launch game, which would've made it more successful as a product at the beginning of the console's lifecycle as opposed to the end of the previous console's lifecycle.Continue Reading at GameSpot

  • PlayStation Plus Free Games For March 2025 Include Dragon Age: The Veilguard And More
    www.gamespot.com
PlayStation has revealed this month's batch of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. All PS Plus members will be able to claim a trio of freebies starting March 4: Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. If you haven't claimed February's PlayStation Plus free games yet, make sure to do so before next Tuesday.Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the headliner here, as the game was released back in October 2024. BioWare's return to its single-player roots, The Veilguard earned mostly positive reviews but sales did fail to meet EA's expectations. For anyone looking to finally check it out, people have raved about the vibrant land of Thedas in this game, the colorful cast of characters, and satisfying combat mechanics. On the retro side, Sonic Colors: Ultimate is a great game for fans of Sega's Blue Blur. This is a remastered version of the 2010 game that was originally released for the Nintendo Wii, and it introduced a power-up system through the alien Wisp creatures that made gameplay very exciting.Continue Reading at GameSpot
