  • Vaulted Content In Destiny 2 Is Inaccessible To Anyone, Including Bungie, Who Had To Use YouTube Videos As Proof
    cgshares.com
BungieBungies lawsuit with sci-fi writer Kelsey Martineau, who accused the developer of copying a part of Destiny 2s Red War campaign storyline on his original work that was published back in 2017 before the games release, has made some interesting progress recently. Thanks to Bungies vaulting actions, earlier content in the game became inaccessible for everyone, including themselves, while new content was added. Therefore, to offer proof to the court, the developer had to rely on YouTubers archived videos. As spotted by Game File, obviously, Bungie is unable to provide a copy of the game to show the Red Legion storyline, so they submitted a few videos uploaded by fans instead. One is a 10-hour of hard work from MynameisByf, titled The Complete Story of Destiny! From Origins to Final Shape! Light & Dark Saga Lore & Timeline, and another one is Destiny 2: The Red War All Cutscenes (Season 1) by content creator Destin. Heres the explanation from Bungine:Because (1) Destiny 2s narrative is only available to players in the form of a live-service video game that has changed significantly over time, and (2) physical copies of Destiny 2, and any 2017 version of Destiny 2, are no longer available, the attached videos are the best possible way for the Court to review the accused work.As they admitted, there is no feasible way to provide the Court with a form of the original Red War campaign for review. It sounds too pitiful that Bungie doesnt have a better option. However, they blamed the author for the now-defunct status, saying it is a direct consequence of Martineaus delay in bringing this lawsuit.Besides this lawsuit, Bungie also faced other accusations of copyright infringement. Earlier, an artist claimed that the company had plagiarized fan art created in 2015. In 2023, the company was accused of taking a fans artwork and using it in its Destiny 2 cutscene.Join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post Vaulted Content In Destiny 2 Is Inaccessible To Anyone, Including Bungie, Who Had To Use YouTube Videos As Proof appeared first on CG SHARES.

    www.gamespot.com
Eager to learn about all the monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds? There are dozens of creatures for you to battle, each with their own devastating attacks that you need to avoid, weaknesses that you can exploit, and materials that you may obtain as rewards. Our guide discusses the ferocious creatures that we've battled in our playthrough. Likewise, please be aware that this article contains spoilers. All monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds - Bestiary guideOur guide is primarily organized based on each region--i.e. Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs, and Ruins of Wyveria. As such, we also encourage you to take a look at our world map/biomes guide to learn about these areas, as well as the dynamic weather effects that can cause environmental hazards.Likewise, it's worth considering that monsters actually move around the map as time goes by. Moreover, new creatures may appear at certain points depending on the weather.Note 1: We've opted to focus on large monsters, the behemoths that are really tough to take out. We did not include smaller monsters, such as hatchlings or minions, as well as endemic life, such as bugs and critters.Note 2: Monsters include basic types (i.e. low rank), as well as higher-tier variants or subcategories:Guardians - Mostly found in the Ruins of Wyveria biome. Guardians mimic the attacks of their regular counterparts, but they can also drop explosive crystals that cause damage. Moreover, you need to be ready when they move to a new location. They tend to do a channeling ability where they draw upon energy to heal existing wounds.High rank - After completing Chapter 3, you'll start encountering high-rank variants of the same monsters. They drop improved materials denoted by a "+" sign, which lets you craft higher-tier weapons and armors.Tempered - The toughest creatures in the game are known as Tempered Monsters. They bear numerous wounds, signs of the battles they've survived. You need to take them out to obtain Artian Weapons. Basically, several body parts--i.e. cranium, legs, and tail--all have protective iceplates. Destroying these allows you to break the remaining iceplates on their abdomen/ridge of the back.Later in the fight, they will start to channel a tremendous blizzard that will blanket the area. When this occurs, you need to pull down the pillars high above you. This causes large ice blocks to form, and you'd be able to hide behind them to survive the attack. • D3D11: using DirectCompute in multiple threads
    gamedev.net
I haven't been able to find a good answer regarding using DirectCompute on multiple threads in a program. I'm trying to add DirectCompute functionality to my program (a scientific app, not a game) to help with some of my algorithms. However, some of these algorithms can be run on both the UI thread, which uses D3D11 for rendering, and on a background thread. The Dispatch() call for a compute shader needs to be called on the D3D11DeviceContext, which should only be used on a single thread at a
