Monolith Closure Makes Fans Wonder If They'll See Nemesis System Before 2036Warner Bros. Games' decision to shut down Player First Games, WB Games San Diego, and Monolith Productions was not easy for the employees of these studios and was upsetting for fans as well. Especially since this means some tech is not in a state of limbo, and no one knows what will happen.Monolith, the creator of the Middle-earth series and F.E.A.R., also developed the Nemesis System, which basically makes enemies smarter so they remember everything you did wrong to them and react accordingly. We could have seen the system in Wonder Woman once, although it is said Monolith dropped the idea, but the game was canceled together with the studio. It's not that surprising if you believe Bloomberg's report, which states it has been in trouble for a while and was rebooted at some point, costing over $100 million already, but now the question is: will we see the Nemesis System any time soon?In 2021, WB secured a patent for the technology, which will end in 2036, and with Monolith's closure, it's unclear when it will be used again. Hopefully, WB will find someone else to implement the system.
