Homebuilding company PulteGroup has completed a pilot project using robotic-assisted construction technology. Located at the companys DiVosta community in Babcock Ranch, Florida, the project involved building a homes structural walls using an AI-guided construction robot named Hadrian X, developed by the Australian company FBR.The Hadrian X system uses a robotic arm to place concrete blocks, securing them with an adhesive that is reportedly twice as strong as traditional mortar. The system constructed the walls in a single day, and according to the company is one of 10 homes in the U.S. built using the technology. Our industry faces challenges when it comes to labor availability and the need to build more efficiently and sustainably, said Matt Koart, EVP and COO of PulteGroup, about the project. We see opportunities to integrate technologies that can improve construction quality and safety, while creating exceptional homes for our customers.
