But I do believe a big one is theyre good titles to improve from their originals that allow for more horror-focused design up the alley of Resident Evil 2, which was a big success, and continue the remake train, which has been very successful for them.This suggests well have a long while to wait for any potential remake of Resident Evil 5, along with the rumoured revamp of the original.Capcoms next Resident Evil game, however, is assumed to be Resident Evil 9, which was officially announced in July last year. Did you get enough about Qualcomms Snapdragon X chips in 2024? To start off 2025, the chipmaker known for finally bringing ARM to PCand usable this timenow aims to carve a niche in the cheap laptop or mini-PC market. The new Snapdragon X platform isnt plus and it isnt elite, although if you want to get your mother a ARM-based small PC for nothing but browsing and streaming, this could be your first CPU of choice..The current staple of Oryon-based Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus chips include an 8-core variant. The Snapdragon X has the same number of cores, though its dialed back to 3 GHz clock speeds on the same 4nm processor node and a 30 MB cache. It has a 135 mb/s memory bandwidth but maintains the same 45 TOPS neural processor as the other Snapdragon PC CPUs. Does the NPU really matter so much when its made for a PC that has a limited amount of onboard RAM? Likely not. The Snapdragon X is more meant to compete against other, low-end CPUs like the Intel Core Ultra 5 120U from early last year. Qualcomm claims its new chip is capable of close to 60% better benchmarks in Geekbench 6 and Cinebench 2024, though for a low-end PC the most important thing is how it handles browsing tasks with better power efficiency. Qualcomm claimed it should get 157% better power efficiency at ISO power than the last-gen Intel chip.Intel just released new CPUs for both its Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake lineup, including a new U line. Without benchmark comparisons, all we have to go off is the companys specs. Otherwise, the Snapdragon X supports Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 7. Devices with this chip should be able to support 4K HDR video capture and HiFi audio. There should be several OEMs debuting new Snapdragon X-based PCs during this years CES. Lenovo is first out the gate with two mini-PCs, the ThinkCentre neo 50q QC and Lenovo IdeaCentre Mini x (1L, 10). Both include the Snapdragon X Plus, though the IdeaCentre is geared more toward creatives looking for a Mac mini alternative.

Its big hopes on that front however, lie in two more live-action pillars in the form of Ironheart, the continuation of Riri Williams adventures as the MCUs latest young hero after her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and one of the studios most anticipated shows of its whole Disney+ slate:Daredevil: Born Again, coming this March, a continuation/soft reset of the beloved Netflix adaptation that helped shoot Marvels TV ambitions into the stratosphere a decade ago. Its not just film and TV to get excited about, though. On the comics front, DCs launch of the Absolute Universe line is off to an incredibly strong start with its re-imagined take on the trinity, and its set to get even bigger with the arrivals ofAbsolute Flash,Absolute Martian Manhunter, andAbsolute Green Lanternthis spring. The success of The Batman andThe Penguin even without any planned tie-over into DC Studios broader plansas well as Gunns explicit intent to create a universe where not only can multiple versions of a continuity can exist simultaneously, but also give a prime universe that is less interested about establishing originsand Marvels increasingly lassez-faire approach to the exact chronology of the MCU is somewhat exciting, especially as it begins to leverage animation more and give us new spins on non-MCU takes on the likes of Spidey and the X-Men. After years of it mattering the most, maybe everything doesnt need to be all connected. Longshot Bets Looking ahead, 2025 will be an important year for Marvel and DC alike, but fans are always yearning for whats next even with major projects on the horizon. With Superman andFirst Steps out of the way in July, maybe itll be time for us to start learning about both studios plans for the next big chapters of their movie timelines: whatever approach Brave and the Bold will take bringing a new Batman to live-action, and Marvel Studios ever-brewing plans for its first crack at a live-action X-Men. Its going to be a big summer with all eyes on SDCC, even after weve feasted on the treats to come.That, or maybe this year well actually get another attempted release date forBeyond the Spider-Verse. FBI footage via YouTube. On Sunday, the FBI released footage from Shamsud-Din Jabbars Meta glasses. Jabbar drove a rented Ford F-150 into a crowd of people on New Years Day in New Orleans. He brought IEDs, but they didnt go off. He died in a shootout with police. He planned it all with a stylish pair of Ray-Bans kitted out with Meta cameras.The Ray-Ban Wayfarer is a glasses icon. These are the glasses that Bob Dylan used to hide his eyes. The Blues Brothers escaped the cops in Illinois while wearing Ray-Bans. Don Henley sang about them in The Boys of Summer. When Corey Hart said he wore his Sunglasses at Night, he was talking about Ray-Bans. A pair of giant Ray-Bans marks the spot where musician Buddy Holly died in Iowa. Add to that list another grim cultural moment: a man who killed 14 people and injured 35 more staring at himself in the mirror of a rented room. Testing his new technologya pair of Meta Ray-Ban smart glasseswhich hell use to plot a terror attack. The FBI-provided footage is almost 4 minutes long and has no sound. Its five different clips from multiple sources, only the first two come from Jabbars glasses. In the first, hes riding through the French Quarter on a bicycle on Halloween. In the second clip, Jabbar stares into a mirror, the Ray-Bans capturing his sweaty face.Meta glasses appear to look like regular glasses but they allow a user to record video and photos hands-free, Lyonel Myrthil, FBI New Orleans Special Agent in Charge, told reporters during a press conference following the release of the footage. They also allow the user to potentially livestream through their video. Jabbar was wearing a pair of Meta glasses when he conducted the attack on Bourbon Street. But he did not activate the glasses to livestream his actions that day. The FBI video also included clips from security footage in the area showing Jabbar setting up for the attack. Hes wearing glasses in the videos. Jabbar placed two IEDs on the streets, which failed to detonate, and died in a shootout with police after exiting the F-150. The guns he used were purchased legally in Texas.Meta and Ray-Ban launched their first pair of smart glasses back in 2021, but the product didnt surge in popularity until a few years later. Other companies have attempted to market smart glasses before, but theyve been failures. The most famous failure was Google Glass, a 2013 attempt by the tech giant to get people to put cameras on their faces.People hated Google Glass. By 2013, many people already had a device on them that would take a photo or video of anything around them, but there was still a lot of widespread resistance to the idea of constant surveillance. Google Glass was bulky and obviously a camera and a lot of people pushed back. Some businesses even prohibited people who wore the ugly cameras from entering their stores, bars, and restaurants. Metas grand innovation in the smart glasses space is concealment. Ray-Ban is one of the most iconic and ubiquitous sunglasses brands in the world. Its Wayfarer is so popular that its inspired countless knockoffs. A passing glance at a pair of Meta glasses doesnt register alarm in people. Unless youre looking closely, theyre just glasses.Ray-Bans are iconic and cool. Theyre so ingrained into American culture that we dont think about them when we see them. When Mark Zuckerberg approached the brand to host his smartglasses platform, he was borrowing the brands easy coolness. It worked. And now anyone can be effortlessly cool while recording absolutely everything around them. The project sits on the banks of the Seine, in Saint-Ouen, at the heart of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Village. It is built on a former 19th-century industrial site. The urban project, designed by Dominique Perrault, features large "ships" perpendicular to the Seine, with a common skyline for each of the bases: "the waterline." The Belvedere block is one of these ships, set on the Mail Finot, the major landscaped area in the Village. At the center of the block, SOA has created a tall building (R+10) and two smaller buildings (R+5 and R+6) on the rear street.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture!The buildings on the Mail are connected together by a monumental two-level urban plinth. This base contains a dual-aspect hall and its large bicycle storage area, creating a visual connection between the Mail and the heart of the block. The color of the facades results from a collaboration with contemporary artist Morgane Tschiember and AkzoNobel factories around the concept of "skin building." The idea is to represent the fusion of the iconic red brick of Saint-Ouen with the various tones of the skin. We had to take advantage of the considerable thickness of 21 meters by 21 meters from the master plan. Large openings to the north onto the Mail Finot, provide a wide view of the urban perspective from the living room. Medium-sized openings to the south are protected by deep terraces. And small openings to the east and west for the bedrooms, reducing visibility into neighboring buildings. The overall opening ratio optimizes the thermal performance of the building.Save this picture!All the apartments in lot E1-B, except for a few studios, have dual orientations. They are designed around a common principle: the living rooms, located at the corners, benefit from multiple and unobstructed views. The kitchens and living rooms are arranged around a loggia or along a generous balcony. New research from the University of Arizona (U of A) claims that Pluto may not have been created with a bang, but with a kiss.The study, published in Nature Geoscience, looks at how Pluto and its moon, Charon, originated after colliding. Instead of destroying each other, the two celestial bodies began to spiral together like a cosmic snowman before separating into two bodies again. Whats unique about the separation is that Pluto and Charon still share the same orbit.This new discovery is helping researchers better understand how planets form and evolve, especially icy worlds. The research team refers to this new form of cosmic collision as a "kiss and capture."Molten PuttyUntil recently, researchers believed that Charon formed similarly to Earths moon via a massive collision followed by deformation and stretching of planetary materials sort of like silly putty until the materials were pulled into Earths orbit and solidified into the moon.Researchers had theorized that Earth was hotter and its surface was more molten, making it easier for the planetary materials to act more fluid during a collision. Whats different about Pluto is that it is far colder than Earth and likely more brittle."Pluto and Charon are different they're smaller, colder, and made primarily of rock and ice," said Adeene Denton, a NASA postdoctoral fellow who conducted the research at the U of A Lunar and Planetary Laboratory and lead author of the study, in a press release. The two then began rotating as a single snowman-shaped cluster until they separated into a binary system.According to the researchers, a binary system happens when two celestial bodies orbit around the same center, similar to two figure skaters spinning while holding hands."Most planetary collision scenarios are classified as 'hit and run' or 'graze and merge, said Denton in a press release. What we've discovered is something entirely different a 'kiss and capture' scenario where the bodies collide, stick together briefly, and then separate while remaining gravitationally bound."From this study, the research team believes that Pluto and Charon likely stayed mostly intact during the collision and that during the separation, there may have been a massive heat transfer that made it possible for Pluto to have a subsurface ocean. The research team is already planning additional studies to uncover more of Plutos mysteries and learn more about binary systems."We're particularly interested in understanding how this initial configuration affects Pluto's geological evolution," Denton said in a press release.
