Check Out This Stunning Ocean Waves Simulation Made in Houdini


VFX Artist Yuki Ito continues to impress us with their outstanding water simulations, presenting a new mesmerizing setup created for practice. Having already tackled digital rivers, the artist to larger water bodies, demonstrating a highly-realistic simulation of ocean waves and showing how it looks without the textures.

Much like Yuki’s earlier endeavors, the latest piece was brought to life with Houdini, SideFX’s flagship procedural 3D software. Previously, the artist employed the program’s FLIP solver for their fluid sims, so it’s fair to assume that their CG beach also leveraged this particular tool.
