Enjoy the ocean waves with Manuel Sitompul’s latest project, a beautiful stylized animation featuring Squirtle.
The glimmering water was created with Unreal Engine 5, while the beach and rocks on it were sculptured in ZBrush and textured in Substance 3D Painter.
“I’ve been diving into Unreal material creation for some time, but this is the most complex one I’ve made so far. I feel like Squirtle deserves it,” the artist shared.
Sitompul’s ArtStation profile can tell many other fantastic stories, and if you’d like to take a look behind the art, check out our interviews on creating stylized clothes and texturing a painterly character.
We have a lot of fluid simulations for you, take your pick: realistic waves in Houdini, a real-time physically accurate ocean surface, stunning running water, another Houdini simulation, these Unity-made waves, Krystian Komisarek’s fantastic system, and even a VRChat world.
