Ubisoft Calls On The Community To Protect Everyone From Assassin’s Creed Shadows Spoilers

There is still about a month until the official release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but some players have already managed to obtain a physical copy and access part of the game. Streams of the game had appeared on the live streaming platform Twitch, which were quickly been taken down.

Although it’s unclear how those copies appeared a month ahead of its launch, as reported by VGC, one specifically said the source was Facebook Marketplace and costs $100. For a side note, the standard edition of the game is $70.

Ubisoft has issued a statement about the situation, saying “leaks are unfortunate and can diminish the excitement for players” and asking the community to take action to protect everyone from spoilers. In the last month, the team continued to polish the game, “working on patches to prepare the experience for launch.”

As the last chance at a comeback for a game publisher that will celebrate its 37th birthday in three days and has just experienced the worst year in its history, Assassin’s Creed Shadows bears lots of anticipation, yet its development and launch have been filled with incidents. Initially, it was criticized for lack of historical accuracy and respect, which led some players to sign a petition to cancel it. Later, the release suffered two delays, to the extent that the first sight of this new announcement on spoilers made some fans think it was another announcement about a delay. The destruction of the Itatehyozu Shrine’s digital replica was met with strong disapproval from local people.

However, Ubisoft seems to be quite confident in its performance. Last week, during Ubisoft’s Q3 2025 earnings call, CEO Yves Guillemot reassured that that pre-orders for Assassin’s Creed Shadows are “tracking solidly, in line with those of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the second most successful entry of the franchise.”
