Call Of Duty 2026 Is Reportedly Developed “On Dev Kits For The Next Xbox”

Call Of Duty 2026 is allegedly being developed right now, but with some uncertainty and changes to the platform.

TheGhostOfHope, a known CoD player and leaker, has decided to bring something for the community to talk about while waiting for the delayed Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6, “a big moment” that is rumored to bring players back to Verdansk. The next season will start on April 3, two weeks later than the original plan.

According to TheGhostOfHope, the 2026 game would be Modern Warfare IV, which has been developed “on Dev Kits for the Next Xbox” and will not support the older generation of consoles.

It’s also worth noticing that the future of Warzone might be uncertain, as the leaks also suggest that if the highly-anticipated return of Verdansk “fails to retain current/returning players,” Warzone 3 might not be possible.

Some other exclusive details about Call Of Duty 2026 are that the game will, compared with BO6, feature a more traditional UI design similar to the older games, and the development engine is being overhauled in order to fix MWII issues, like “visual clutter,” for better performance.

Back in December last year, the same leaker talked about the CoD 2026 for the first time, saying that it would be developed by Infinity Ward, who would remaster a majority of Modern Warfare 3 (2011) maps together with some new original maps, and scheduled for late 2026. Combined with the newly shared details, we could have an expectation on the release window of the next Xbox if the information proved true.
