See How To Shoot Fireballs & Pick Up Mana In This Upcoming Retro-Inspired 3D Co-Op Shooter RPG

It’s been a while since we last followed up on the development of Gunmetal Gothic, a Godot-powered co-op shooter-RPG with PS1-style 3D graphics being created by a Solo Game Developer known as ynoham. Recently, another clip that showcases the protagonist shooting fireballs and picking up mana to fill the bar has once again shocked the community with its incredible vibes and style.

The game, which looks stunning while running on an actual old TV, can be played either solo or in co-op mode. In reply to various inquiries about the title, ynoham shares that players can complete the entire game alone, except for certain achievements, titles, and cosmetic-style rewards that require cooperative gameplay.

While working on a game alone could be an unimaginably hard task, the developer has shown a great level of focus on details that complete the game and make it extremely immersive. For example, stepping on different surfaces sounds differently, and as you approach gates and levers, a rattle will make it realistic:

Additionally, the developer has shared more new footage showcasing the game’s data design, the first boss to battle with, animation of opening treasure chests and breaking crates and barrels for bonus items, combat, and more.

With so many fans eagerly awaiting the release of the game, the solo developer has shared the plan to ease the wait — they are currently working on a demo version, which they hope to release in a few months. The full game is expected to launch in Early Access on Steam in 2026. If Gunmetal Gothic hasn’t been added to your wishlist yet, it’s not too late to do it now.
