Crunchyroll is currently hosting a big sale on anime releases, discounting hundreds of Blu-rays, DVDs, and even collector’s editions. There are some great deals to take advantage of, so if you’re looking to treat yourself or an anime fan in your life, check a few of our favorite anime Blu-rays included in the sale below, or head over to Crunchyroll to browse all the discounts.
Several classic series on on sale, including FLCL – The Complete Series for $27 (was $45). This Blu-ray contains the original six-episode sci-fi series, and you can pair it with FLCL Progressive Alternative, which includes both six-episode sequel seasons for $40.48 (was $45), to get the full series. FLCL is often cited as one of the best anime ever thanks to its exquisite animation, incredible soundtrack from rock band The Pillows, and a touching tale that has stood the test of time.
Another sci-fi classic that’s easy to recommend is Cowboy Bebop for $30 (was $50), the beloved show about bounty hunters barely scraping by as they explore our local neck of the cosmos. The animation still looks incredible, the action pulls no punches, and there’s even a lovable Corgi–what more could you ask for?
Moving to the modern era, Vinland Saga is an easy recommendation, especially the second season that transitioned the show from a rip-roaring action series into a thought-provoking examination of revenge, redemption, and forgiveness. The full second season is currently available in two parts discounted to $42 each (normally $70 each).
For something lighter, we’d also recommend Bocchi the Rock. You’ve probably seen a few anime shows about high school kids forming a rock band, but Bocchi the Rock is unique as it features a protagonist who struggles with major social anxiety issues. A gifted guitarist seeking to overcome her social limitations, Bocchi’s journey is a touching and energetic tale backed up by incredible animation that accurately captures her doubts, fears, and triumphs.
Those are just a few of the anime Blu-ray deals from Crunchyroll’s sale. We’ve rounded up dozens more in the list below, and you’ll find many more over at Crunchyroll’s online store.
