There’s a good chance that when you finished watching Deadpool and Wolverine last year, you found yourself wanting to know more about Marvel’s favorite mutants. While the two comic book characters have decades of history on the printed page and in other forms of media, it can be daunting for newcomers to dive into that morass of crossovers, team-ups, and mini-series. Fortunately, the upcoming Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine: The Illustrated History Box Set will bring you up to speed on the mutant duo, as it’s available now to preorder for $50 ahead of its June 17 release.

This boxset collects two hardcover encyclopedias, Wolverine: Creating Marvel’s Legendary Mutant and Deadpool: Drawing the Merc with a Mouth. Both books are packaged inside a new illustrated slipcase. One side references Wolverine’s infamous Enemy of the State storyline, while the back features Deadpool parodying it.
Originally published separately under the Insight Edition banner, these books cover each character’s origins, iconic storylines, and more. Each book is full of classic comic covers, panels, and other art from the Marvel Comics archives, as well as exclusive interviews with Marvel Comics artists and writers, including Fabian Nicieza, Mark Waid, Joe Kelly, Reilly Brown, John Byrne, Jim Lee, Chris Claremont, and Frank Miller.
