Bringing firearms to ancient civilizations sounds pretty cool with the sparks created by the crash of different eras, and that’s what you’ll be able to experience in Abyssus, a fast-paced multiplayer FPS and roguelite brinepunk adventure.
If the word “brinepunk” got you confused, here’s what the developer, DoubleMoose Games, explained about brine, “a rare and powerful substance only found in the deepest fathoms of the sea.”
Team up with up to three players and “wield powerful brine-powered weapons and refit them with ancient technologies to gain an edge over your foes. Obtain divine blessings to enhance your firepower with elemental and mystic effects.”
The game features 64 hand-crafted levels, and each run is unique and new thanks to the procedurally generated sequences. There are 36 enemies and four formidable bosses waiting for you to tackle them down with a vast range of different customizable weapons with top-notch weapon feel and combat responsiveness.
Abyssus doesn’t have a release date yet, but the developers have been conducting open alphas during the weekends, with the new round of playtest scheduled for this Friday.
