While developers SNK experimented with Unreal Engine for The King of Fighters XIV and used the engine to create Samurai Shodown, this is the first KoF built with Unreal Engine. SNK relied on the engine’s easy customization and powerful post-processes to breathe new life into the look of the characters and provide a dramatic set of cut scenes that help to wrap up the franchise’s many story arcs.
