Proving earlier rumors and numerous leaks to be correct, Nintendo has finally announced its long-awaited brand-new handheld console, dubbed Nintendo Switch 2.
Revealed in a short two-minute trailer without much fanfare, the console closely resembles the original Nintendo Switch, however, the Joy-Con controllers showcased in the video are black with colored accents, and the entire device appears slightly larger than its predecessor. According to the team, Nintendo Switch 2 will support both original Nintendo Switch games and exclusive titles – both physical and digital – though some NS1 games will not be compatible with the novel handheld.
For now, details about NS2 are scarce, with Nintendo promising to share more during the upcoming Nintendo Direct conference on April 2, 2025.
