Funselektor Labs, the studio behind the beloved racing game art of rally, has presented a short clip of its next game, over the hill. It’s captivated my heart with its tranquilness, graphics, immersively dynamic weather, and day and night cycles.
How can I describe its aesthetic? It’s definitely stunning, artistically capturing the peace and beauty of the scenery. It has made driving with off-road vehicles from the 60s to 80s a much fascinating, nostalgic journey. “Ramble your way through varied biomes inspired by real-world locations, from valleys to mountains and everything in between,” reads the game’s description.
It’s up to you to go on a solo tour or hit the road with up to three friends to explore, navigate, and uncover the vast wilderness. After a day’s trip, set up a campfire, grab a hot cocoa, and catch up on the day’s events.
Try to find some portals to access new areas and probably some hidden gems. Finishing quests would unlock new vehicles, upgrades, customizations, and cosmetics, allowing you to decorate the vehicles per your likes. The built-in photo mode could capture your favorite landscapes along the way.
over the hill will be released later this year, with the release date to be announced later. It’s all about journeying through and finding solace in nature.
