Arrowhead is Working on “High Concept” for Its Next Game

Arrowhead Studios, the team behind Helldivers 2, the Best Multiplayer Game of 2024 TGA, is preparing for their future project. Johan Pilestedt, the former CEO and now CCO of the studio, revealed that he is currently “working on the high concept” for their next game.

In a recent social media post, Pilestedt invited fans to share their expectations and desires for Arrowhead’s new title. While he probably already has something in mind, Pilestedt wanted to hear fans’ speculation and thoughts.

The fans were excited by his statement, and they can’t wait to see what the studio delivers next, even though it is still in the concept period. One player, named Anonny Mas, suggests a remake of the 1990 twin-stick shooter Smash TV. Coincidentally, this idea actually had been once in the high concept at the studio, as Pilestedt shared a screenshot and admitted that “We actually made a concept for this a long time ago.”

Another proposal that the studio once considered is from SoundwaveSpectre, who would like to see a game similar to arcade-style rail shooter Star Fox but with some tweaks. Pilestedt posted a reply with an image showing three environments from a seemingly first-person space-themed title, adding, “Like this old concepts of a game we wanted to make?”

Although the real idea from the studio is still in the mist, the suggestions from rejoiced fans keep popping up, filling the comment section of Pilestedt. Maybe some of the voices from players could be implemented into the studio’s next title.

Speaking of Helldivers 2, the newly released Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 crossover has sparked negative comments from fans, with many players complaining that the new items are way too very expensive.
