I absolutely love Cole Walliser and his Glambot – a fountain of creative ideas and miserable failures, so I couldn’t ignore this interesting recreation by Mango Pablo.
The artist fools the eye with fake perspective achieved with Grease Pencil using Interpolation, so the distorted and cut-off 2D images look 3D.

We’ve seen similar cases before in the fake 3D logo effect made using a retainer box and HLSL, a cute star halo created in Live2D, a liquid shader that seems more than it is, stunning colored glass, reflections that are not real, and the mouse flying a plane in Adobe After Effects.
