Polish developer Bloober Team and Japanese giant Konami are collaborating again following the huge success of Silent Hill 2 remake, as they have signed a partnership deal to work on a new game based on Konami’s IP.
“The success of the remake proved that Bloober Team had perfectly captured the atmosphere and depth of the original while introducing crucial innovations,” reads the public announcement. “The trust built upon the success of Silent Hill 2 laid the foundation for signing another agreement for a new project.”
Although details on the new project weren’t shared yet, it’ll be guaranteed by the two parties’ “high-quality production.” Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, stated that the team is “confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are” and promised to share more truly special information when the time is right.

Undoubtedly, Silent Hill 2 remake was a win-win cooperation for both the developer and publisher. It was critically and commercially successful, earning an 86/100 rating on Metacritic and selling one million copies in four days and two million by January this year. Therefore, there has been speculation surrounding the upcoming new title that it could be set in the universe of Silent Hill.
According to the announcement, the deal to work on the SH 2 remake was signed in 2021, and the game was officially unveiled in October 2022. This could give us some expectation on when news regarding the new game will be shared.
Meanwhile, Bloober Team is working on Project R, which is scheduled to be released later this year. It is a horror title based on one of the IPs of Skybound Entertainment, which is known for making The Walking Dead comic series. The developer will self-publish it via its own publishing division, Broken Mirror Games. 2025 will also see the release of Cronos: The New Dawn, the team’s first original survival horror.
