Even though you won’t find it in The Game Awards 2024’s Most Anticipated Game category, there’s no denying that FromSoftware’s Bloodborne remains one of the most eagerly awaited titles among the gaming community. With droves of dedicated fans clamoring for a remaster and/or a PC port of the beloved soulslike, it’s no wonder that anything and everything that could potentially be interpreted as a hint of a Bloodborne-related announcement immediately sparks intense speculation, and much to the community’s delight, the latest such “hint” suggests that their long-awaited dream might come true as early as next week.

Brought to our attention by FromSoft News, the rumor proposes that some kind of news regarding Bloodborne might be shared on December 3, 2024 – a day some believe could coincide with a surprise PlayStation event from Sony.
Why this particular date, you might ask? Well, in the studio’s recent “Play Has No Limits” trailer, a particular shot drew the community’s attention, featuring a digital train timetable displaying the numbers 03, 12, and 20:24 – random digits to some, a hidden teaser hinting at something happening on that day to others. Feel free to check it out yourself at the 0:46 mark:
Sony
The second part of the theory stems from a maintenance notice sent recently to Bloodborne players, informing them that the game’s servers will undergo a brief shutdown, rendering Online Mode unavailable on – yes, you guessed it – December 3, 2024, from 23:00 to 27:00 [sic] EST, leading many to believe that the same date appearing in two separate contexts is anything but a coincidence.
Lastly, the final piece of evidence supporting the theory is the recent buzz surrounding Kadokawa, the parent company of Bloodborne developer FromSoftware, potentially being acquired by Sony, the owner of the Bloodborne IP.
If the deal goes through, the renowned soulslike developer will become Sony’s property and, as such, will be reunited with Bloodborne, and with Kadokawa itself being open to the idea of becoming a part of Sony, it’s highly likely that the acquisition may indeed take place sometime soon – a concerning prospect for many, but one that would nonetheless bring Bloodborne and its creator back together.

As it stands, the theory remains impossible to prove or debunk, with Sony neither confirming nor denying the December 3 rumors. All that’s left is to wait for next Tuesday to see for ourselves whether this series of coincidences is actually a cleverly hidden teaser or nothing more than a dose of copium for Bloodborne fans who, nearly a decade after their favorite game’s release, are desperate for any kind of news about it.
