Call of Duty has dropped a surprising announcement on social media about a crossover with Squid Game, Netflix’s hit survival horror TV series.
The live-action teaser trailer shows a Black Ops 6 operator spotting and picking up a piece of brown paper. It turns out to be a Squid Game business card with three different shapes on it: a circle, triangle, and square. The shapes were then reshaped to show Call of Duty’s title, and the timing of the collaboration, January 2025, concluded the video.
The Squid Game series was a huge hit when it premiered in 2021, bringing Netflix nearly $900 million in value, a whopping huge number compared with its cost of $21.4 million. Season 2 will be released later this month, on the 26th.
Netflix/Activision
The collaboration will come to both Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone and is sure to attract more audience to both the video game franchise and the TV series.
Yet, so far, Neither Activision nor Netflix has unveiled more details about it, leaving players some space to imagine. Fans are hoping for unique multiplayer modes that bring the thrill of Squid Game to the shooter rather than some cosmetic bundles.
