The AiKodex team, specializing in various high-quality Unity assets, has released a new project inspired by Ubisoft’s paper of the same name. Learned Motion Matching creates realistic and smooth transitions for basic humanoid locomotion by learning to choose the K-Nearest Neighbors (kNN) to match character poses, eliminating the need for a pre-defined State Machine.
This package is focused exclusively on basic human locomotion and doesn’t include advanced movements like jumping or vaulting. Custom movements, such as limping or skipping, require external data and are also not available.
Achieve smooth, natural movement with weight shifts, free from foot sliding or abrupt animation changes often seen in State Machine animations. The customizable kNN classifier achieves an ideal balance between fast, responsive transitions and realistic movement.
Thanks to the advanced Distance Matching system and Greedy Algorithm, your characters can follow custom-defined paths accurately. Loop waypoints effortlessly and adjust the speed to control how your character interacts with their environment.
With IK, your characters can dynamically hold, grasp, or manipulate objects in a lifelike way, with customizable hand weights, precise motion adjustments, and detailed finger movements. Learned Motion Matching is designed for all humanoid characters and includes a one-click setup along with documentation to get you started quickly.
