Crocotile 3D 2.4.5 Is Now Available

A new version of Crocotile 3D, a 3D modeling software for making low-poly, tile-based models and environments, complete with bones/rigging/animation features, is live, bringing several enhancements to streamline existing workflows.

With the added Open Tileset Location option in the Tileset menu, you can open the location of the tileset that was originally loaded if it was imported from an external file. Alex Hanson-White also continues to work on the Rectangle Fill action introduced in the previous release. Now, if a tileset’s texture wrapping is set to Repeat or Mirrored Repeat, Rectangle Fill will place a single tile with its UVs resized to fit the rectangle.

Copy UV and Apply UV keybindings now activate regardless of whether the 3D viewport is focused, helping to prevent accidentally placing tiles when clicking the viewport. Additionally, the issue with the Trackpad scroll action in the Tileset, UVs, and Painting panels, which caused zooming to happen too quickly, has been fixed.

See the changelog for details, and consider submitting your work for CrocoJam #13, showcasing an animated scene based on the theme Monster’s Day Off. Multiple entries are allowed, images, gifs, videos, Crocotile 3D files, browser-based presentations, or downloadable runtime files, all formats are accepted, which is a fantastic opportunity to have fun and share your creativity with everyone.
