Several days ago, FromSoftware announced Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone multiplayer co-op action survival game in this magical universe. The game’s Steam page doesn’t offer much, but there are some details scattered here and there that help us paint a clearer picture.
X/Twtter account Pirat_Nation has kindly compiled a list of things the developer shared about Nightreign.
You can take on the challenge solo or in a group of three, trying to outlast a 3 day-and-night cycle, “making split decisions about combat and exploration across changing maps to become strong enough to take down terrifying bosses at the end of each day.”
The game takes place in Limveld, starting from Roundtable Hold, where you choose the Nightlord you want to beat. “‘Staker’ bosses that can be avoided or faced for greater rewards permanent to the run called Favour of the Night,” Pirat_Nation said.

There will be no armor, but game progression will give you alternative skins. You’ll have 3 Relic slots, color-coded so you can accept only one type. As for the weapons, you can equip up to 3 per arm, each providing effects that grant you substantial buffs.
The 8 characters you can choose from have their own unique abilities and powerful Ultimates. You can complete hunts to progress their stories and trigger specific events.
Moreover, you’ll face randomized events like meteors, volcanic eruptions, anomalies, swarms of insects, swamps (of course), and other threats. You’ll have a spirit eagle to drop you to Limveld’s depths and move from place to place. At the end of each run, you get Musk to spend in the hub and Relics.
“Each character can use any weapon, but will have both different skills/features and hyperarmor/dodge. Duchess has an agile quickstep, and can use an invisibility as ultimate skill and “rewinding” damage as normal skill. Secluded gains FP by hitting enemies as feature and can create a unique spell from damage received. Wilder is armored and can use grapple to drag or proper itself towards enemies and a pilebunker/stake driver as ultimate.”

You don’t have to wait for Nightreign for long: it is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2025.
