Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Will Be Released One Week Earlier

Warhorse Studios’ medieval RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has received a new release date, which makes the game’s launch one week earlier, on February 4, so that players can “start 2025 with the best game there is.” Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, the Global PR Manager at Warhorse Studios, brings fans this great news and shares quite a few things to expect in the upcoming days.

The sequel to the 2018 Kingdom Come: Deliverance has been highly anticipated, as Tobi unveiled that the game has received one million wishlists on Steam alone. This is not that surprising if we look at how many copies were sold for the first game — just a month ago, the team announced the eight million-copy sales milestone.

Players’ anticipation is not only because of the quality of the original game but also the passion of the developer devoted to it. Warhorse Studios has incorporated elements they envisioned for the original game but were unable to realize due to constraints to the sequel. With approximately five hours of cutscenes – two hours more than its predecessor – the sequel boasts a doubled game world size for an immersive medieval experience. With its script reaching 2.2 million words, it could possibly break the Guinness world record for the longest script for a videogame, which now is under Larian Studio’s Baldur’s Gate 3.

According to Tobi, fans will have more to expect tomorrow, as a brand new story trailer, which he believes is the best trailer released ever, will be dropped, along with the PC specifications. He also confirms that right now, two months before the new release date, the game is more or less finished, and developers are working on the finishing touches, like fixing bugs during this last period before the final release.

The news of an earlier release date is favored by the community, and the reason sounds pretty fair and smart as it also helps the game walk out of the crowd among a batch of games to be released around mid and later February. To name a few, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on February 14 without another delay, Obsidian’s Avowed follows to debut on 18, and Monster Hunter Wilds comes on Feb 28.
