Make Red Dead Redemption Look Like Red Dead Redemption 2 With This New Mod

The long-awaited PC port of Rockstar’s 14-year-old Red Dead Redemption was finally released a few days ago, and modders are already hard at work expanding the game with their own content. One such modder, known as Frames Of Screen, has attempted to bridge the 8-year gap between Red Dead Redemption and its 2018 successor, Red Dead Redemption 2, unveiling a cool new mod that seeks to make the original game look more like RDR2.

Meet RDR Reimagined, a graphical overhaul mod for RDR that attempts to revamp the game’s visuals, mainly taking inspiration from Red Dead Redemption 2. While it doesn’t directly improve texture quality, the mod enhances lighting, color grading, and post-processing, giving the 2010 cowboy simulator a more polished look, though at the cost of losing some of its original PlayStation 3-like aesthetic. The creator notes that the preset requires depth buffer access, meaning it will only work on PC and the RPCS3 emulator.

RDR Reimagined’s full list of features:

  • Temporal Anti-aliasing
  • Global illumination
  • Ambient occlusion
