Midgar Studio, the developer behind the turn-based RPG Edge of Eternity, has unveiled its new title, Edge of Memories, which was developed with Unreal Engine 5.
In this single-player JRPG that features stunning visuals inspired by Japanese animation, players will take on the role of Eline, a young nomad who’s been joined by Ysoris, Kanta, and faithful feline companion Nekaroo on her trip across Avaris, a part of the torn world of Heryon. The goal of their journey is to find answers to Corrosion, a disease that is ruining the world, turning everything from plants to animals and human beings into grotesque abominations.
The game promises to present an intense story. In the original narrative, every quest matters and will add new depth to both the story and the relationships between the characters. Your team members are critical throughout the adventure and key to victory. “Customise your companions, and use their skills wisely to inflict more damage at crucial moments.”
Real-time combat is one key gameplay feature that distinguishes the new game from Edge Of Eternity, the first game of the “Edge of” series, which boasts turn-based combat. To defeat relentless enemies, Edge of Memories encourages players to cast spectacular combos by alternating between rapid strikes and devastating techniques.

This game will be published by French publisher Nacon, who acquired the development team in 2022. Midgar Studio was founded in 2008 by Jérémy Zeler-Maury. It initially specialized in outsourcing resources to other studios but later evolved into an independent creative business that focuses on JRPG titles.
Edge of Memories will be released in Q4 this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s now available to be wishlisted on Steam.
