Nine NetEase workers, including two senior executives, reportedly have been detained by police after the company dismissed them for alleged bribery, as stated in an internal company memo.

According to the Chinese outlet Leifeng (via Game Developer), the employees laundered between 800 million to 1 billion yuan, which is $111.4 million to $139.3 million. As reported by Bloomberg, the two executives are Xiang Lang, former Head of Esports, and Jin Yuchen, who was responsible for overseeing publishing platforms for NetEase unit Interactive Entertainment Group.

NetEase reportedly shared that the alleged corruption mainly involved its esports division and distribution and marketing center. It blacklisted 27 companies allegedly connected to the fraud.
