The Game Awards brings up controversies every year, and this time, fans didn’t see Palworld in any nominations and decided the reason was its ongoing lawsuit with Nintendo.
Truly, the game was a phenomenon, and not seeing it anywhere, especially among Game of the Year nominees, is a little strange. However, Palworld’s community manager John “Bucky” Buckley doesn’t think the game was “snubbed.”
“Twitter has become such a banterless place. Stop being so over dramatic gamers. Not everything is a conspiracy,” he said. “That being said… Satisfactory was 1000% snubbed and I’ll be voicing that opinion ad nauseam at The Game Awards in person.”

Interestingly, Satisfactory’s community manager and programmer Snutt Treptow replied to the thread, saying that “the award was all the friends we made along the way.” The game has been around for 5 years already in early access and got a full release this September. It’s a pretty popular game as well, so I understand players being upset over its absence at The Game Awards as well.
This year, the Awards allows DLCs, remakes, and remasters to compete in all categories. Not everyone is happy about it, though, as Elden Ring’s DLC Shadow of the Erdtree is among Game of the Year contestants, and many say this is not right because a DLC is not a full game.
