People Can Fly Officially Working On A Game Prototype Based On Sony’s IP

People Can Fly

Polish game developer People Can Fly announced that it is working on a prototype for a new video game based on a Sony-owned IP, which is codenamed Project Delta. The game will be developed under a work-for-hire model, with Sony acting as the publisher and People Can Fly as the developer.

Founded in 2002, People Can Fly has been the developer behind several popular games, including Gears of War: Judgment, Bulletstorm, and Outriders, and was a co-developer of Gears of War 4. Recently, it also announced that it’s working along with The Coalition on the highly-anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, the next installment in the renowned Gears of War series, as a co-developer.

Although the official statement about the new cooperation didn’t specify which Sony-owned IP it is, the studio’s strong expertise in shooters has given fans hopes for a new title in franchises like SOCOM, Resistance, or Killzone.

People Can Fly has been struggling to maintain growth and suffered from “shrinking scope.” It laid off staff twice last year, in January and December respectively, letting go of around 30 and 120 developers.
