PS5 Pro Sales Meet Sony’s Expectations & Exceed Sales of PS4 Pro

Sony

Sony’s COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki shared that the recently released PlayStation 5 Pro’s sales align with the company’s expectations and exceed those of the PlayStation 4 in the same period.

The executive said (via Nikkei) that the company wasn’t “eyeing a large sales plan,” as the console is “a high-end product targeted at core customers.” He continued, commenting on the device’s sales performance and comparing it to the launch of PS4: “I’m under the impression that the product is performing slightly stronger than the pre-orders of the PS4 Pro during the same period, so I don’t think it is adversely affecting the product’s sales plan.”

After Sony announced the release of PlayStation 5 Pro, the community’s reaction was lukewarm, mainly due to the console’s price. The device launched on November 7. Sony revealed the list of 55 games available for the new console, which includes Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Hogwarts Legacy, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and more. The list will be replenished with new items, but it is unclear, which games would be included. For instance, an expert suggested that the GTA 6 game will not run at 60 FPS on the new console.
