Real-Time CFD Simulation Powered By Unity


Technical Artist Yidong Ma, also known as maajor, showcased the results of his effort to replicate fluid dynamics through a grid-based simulation. In this project, particles are used solely for visualization, and no VFX graph is involved.

As you can see in the video, the simulation is meant for visual purposes and definitely not intended for scientific applications. This concept could be applied to any race management or car customization game or perhaps even used to create a wind tunnel simulator. While it’s still a work in progress, further optimization is needed to achieve real-time performance at a finer scale.
