Swimming & Diving Added to This Adventure Game With A Picturesque Tilt Shifted World

Last September, we spotted a WIP project by BokehDev: an adventure game where an adorable character travels across a picturesque land. A few months have passed, and the game has received many amazing updates. Let’s take a look at them and see how this adorable game gradually welcomes more interesting mechanisms and features.

The latest new features are swimming and diving, so the protagonist can jump out of the boat into the water and enjoy some nice interaction with the seaweeds. According to the developer, players can reach unique areas in the game by traveling in the boat, so it will be a critical companion.

Besides traveling on a boat, you can go for locomotives, which “serve as an easy way to travel between the western and eastern ends of the world, with a few stops in between.” It has open carriages with vintage carpets and seats.

Thanks to the platform movement and ladder climbing that is added, you can jump from the train roof to a tower along the way – maybe there is something interesting there that is worth checking out.

BokehDev has also been working on a dialogue system so the characters can chat and express their thoughts. Plus, players can make choices for the dialogue to join their conversation.

The world in The Ballad of Bellum is extremely enchanting, and the developers have been generous in sharing footage so we can enter the beautiful landscapes that are expanding and improving:

It might take some effort to get some honey in the game. Use your little tools, like a boomerang, to chase away the bees from the beehive so you can get closer to fill your jar with some sweet liquid.

The game has received numerous exciting updates in the past four months, and perhaps the most major one is the launch of its Steam page, so interested players can add the game to their wishlist and learn more about its main features. The team has shared that over 2,000 players added the game to their wishlist within just two weeks and more than 3,000 within the first month.
The Ballad of Bellum is still in development and doesn’t have a release window yet. We encourage you to follow the developer on X/Twitter to check out more demos.
