This Game Mixing Hotline Miami, Lo-Fi Hip-Hop & Cowboy Bebop Will Get a Demo in January

Have a look at Sick Samurai, an upcoming fast-action game based on instant-death combat. The game will offer you a world full of lo-fi hip-hop and retro anime aesthetics where you need to slash and dash your way to become the greatest fighter on the island.

The developer describes the title as Hotline Miami-like, with Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop aesthetics. A demo is expected to arrive in January, and the full release is scheduled for October 2025.

Players can use different combat tactics, wield secondary weapons, like the kunai and stun bombs, and kick objects at enemies. Every level of Sick Samurai is said to be hand-crafted, offering multiple paths and strategies.

The developer also promises an original lo-fi soundtrack “with elements of hip hop, jazz, funk, soul, and more, and hand-drawn, retro anime-style art. You can add the game to your wishlist on Steam
