Watch Dango Get Coated In Glaze Made With Houdini & Karma


These very appetizing mitarashi dango dumplings, coated in a rich layer of glaze, were crafted by Dante Metaphor, who also shared the process behind Houdini’s FLIP simulation rendered in Karma.

For this project, Dante Metaphor had to use TOPs and HQueue to offload the meshing to a separate PC. The artist also revealed that he doesn’t work with FLIP often and explained his choice of using separate VDB, as fluid mesher felt a bit slower due to the extra features, which might be better suited for larger-scale simulations.
