SieMatic Presents ‘The Art of Intuitive Individuality’ at CDW 2025
Clerkenwell Design Week is nearly upon us… Are our friends and readers in the London area ready for some exciting programming?! If so, you can RSVP here.
Next week, Design Milk managing editor Joseph Sgambati III will join SieMatic’s Director of Brand Experience Marc Sporer on stage at the Church of Design for an engaging dialogue on 21 May at 13:00. Presented by SieMatic, “The Art of Intuitive Individuality” will explore the nuance of leveraging architecture and personal identity for timeless design. But what does that look like in practice? How can designers, specifiers, and clients operate outside of trends to craft something with a deeper meaning and some serious staying power?
Since 1929, SieMatic has positioned the kitchen as the home’s creative hub through pioneering solutions with innovations that extend well beyond the culinary space. An example of this industry-leading design includes the handleless kitchen concept, which they are credited with introducing to the world having popularized it in the 1960s.
During the talk, Sporer and Sgambati will consider personal taste as it applies to space making, touch on elements of neuroarchitecture, and argue the function of beauty for the sake of wellness – with plenty of opportunity for the audience to contribute. Attendees will be invited to participate forging their own connections between materiality, mood, and memory.
The smooth, soft close of a drawer locking into place. The ambient glow of backlit casework made warmer by fragrant cuisine. And the visual excitement of high-contrast material connections. As times change, lifestyles evolve, and technology advances at near-light speed, so too does the designer’s role in keeping concepts human centric. It is paramount that architecture and interiors tap into the senses in an ever-shifting landscape of commodities vying for people’s precious attention.
