Maxis and EA previously confirmed that the first trailer would be dropping today, before we get a deep look at gameplay on June 26. The major reveal, of course, is the long-anticipated return of fairies to The Sims, and it looks as though plenty of notes have been taken from their extremely well-received debut as a playable occult type back in The Sims 3. We all kind of saw that one coming though, since EA are surely too canny to blatantly tease Simmers with a popular returning feature only to pull the rug out. More unexpectedly, it seems that your Sims will soon be able to reject indoor life entirely by foraging for their meals, wild bathing, and sleeping out under the stars. All fun and games until they run afoul of one of several new and interesting ailments being introduced in the pack; fortunately, treating said ailments with traditional remedies also seems to have a big role to play as part of the new Apothecary... crafting type? Skill? Career? We'll surely find out more in that gameplay trailer, due out later this month. All of this takes place the new world of Innisgreen, which is partially inspired by Ireland, but only if you squint through a heavy layer of folklore and fantasy theming. It's definitely more Hobbiton than 21st century hometown for the most part, unless our Irish cousins have started living in whimsical treehouses and neglected to tell us; although one neighbourhood does seem to be based on the more down-to-earth setting of Cobh, County Cork — home of the famous "Deck of Cards" painted houses. Though the expansion itself doesn’t arrive until July 10, the limited-time event, Nature’s Calling, kicks off June 24 to set the scene for what’s to come. Then, on July 1, the game’s next update will arrive, bringing with it more nature-themed skins and other customisation options. This is all part of The Sims 4’s June-August roadmap, which developer Maxis outlined just last week. The roadmap also revealed another major update is scheduled for August 19, itself adding even more customisation options to the game. Next up, of course, is the proper Enchanted by Nature gameplay reveal, which takes place just two weeks from now, on Thursday, June 26.

It's less than a month away! Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for Foundation Season 3. Here at Country Living, we love to study trends, especially those with timeless appeal. As the Senior Homes and Style Editor, it's my job to track these trends and decide which ones are worth covering and which ones are not, which is exactly why I've been watching the rise of wood paneling the last few years. People are desperate to move away from cold, clinical minimalism and make their homes feel more welcoming and lived-in. I was surprised, though, when I started seeing more and more paneling in the kitchen—not just on the walls, but acting as a backsplash. Below, we're diving into everything you need to know about the material set to replace tile as the designer-preferred kitchen backsplash this year. Before we get too far, let's be clear: Tile backsplash isn't going anywhere any time soon, and I'm definitely not saying you should rip out all your tile and replace it with wood paneling just because it's popular. Wood paneling offers a fresh alternative to tile that adds a warm layer to a space that can otherwise feel sterile. It's been beloved as an easy way to add character to your walls for decades, and its foray into the kitchen shouldn't be a surprise as cottage kitchens become more and more popular both online and in real life. Before you toss out your tile samples, let's examine which types of paneling might be best for your kitchen. ShiplapLove it or hate it, shiplap is here to stay. This style, made popular by Chip and Joanna Gaines more than a decade ago, offers a classic look, making it perfect for homes regardless of their age or location. If you love this look but want something that feels less ubiquitous, avoid white shiplap and choose a warmer neutral, such as Interactive Cream by Sherwin-Williams or Rhine River by Benjamin Moore. Nickel Gap Paneling Think of nickel gap paneling, which gets its name from the consistent, nickel-width gap between each of the planks, as shiplap's older, more refined cousin. Unlike shiplap, which uses a type of connecting grove called a rabbet joint, nickel gap uses a classic tongue-and-groove joinery system. Once installed, the planks feel more elevated and purposeful than standard shiplap. While any type of wood can be used for nickel gap paneling, inexpensive woods, such as pine and poplar, or even MDF are popular options. BeadboardA longtime favorite in country kitchens, beadboard paneling is full of historic cottage charm. (My two cents: If a design element was good enough for the Victorians, it's good enough for me!) Because beadboard has a raised edge—the "bead" that gives it its name—it's a great way to add texture and a sense of history to a space, and might be the best option if you're trying to add age to a newly built kitchen. An immersive architectural installation designed by the architecture and design firm opng is staged inside the former Chase Manhattan banking hall, a 1961 structure by SOM. House of Craft x Dior is a show of haute couture works from the fashion house’s archives. Presented by UBS and Dior, and curated by fashion icon Carine Roitfeld, the clothing and accessories are  brought to life in this historic setting. The exhibition orbits around Isamu Noguchi’s 1964 Sunken Garden, a serene, geometric landscape of basalt stones, water, and abstracted nature. opng’s design uses the site’s tranquility, creating a mirrored, “maze-like” architecture that visually connects the haute couture on display with Noguchi’s own sculptural language. The exhibition spans 30,000 square feet, wrapping visitors in a network of 10-foot mirrored walls. These surfaces reflect and multiply Dior gowns, accessories, process sketches, and photographs.  The exhibition includes a striking 60-foot “Silhouette Wall” featuring Brigitte Niedermair’s portraits of each designer’s most defining creations. Each director’s vision is represented through silhouettes, displayed alongside behind-the-scenes materials that offer insight into the meticulousness of couture. The exhibition includes a striking 60-foot “Silhouette Wall” featuring Brigitte Niedermair’s portraits of each designer’s most defining creations. A 24-foot worktable is surrounded by videos of couturiers from Dior’s Haute Couture House describing the construction process of making Dior’s most recognizable garments. WWDC 2025, Apple’s annual developers conference, starts at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET. Monday. Last year’s event was notable for its focus on AI, and this year, there is considerable pressure on the company to build on its promises, and to change the narrative after months of largely negative headlines. As in previous years, the company will focus on software updates and new technologies, including the next version of iOS, which is rumored to have the most significant design changes since the introduction of iOS 7. But iOS 19 (or 26, if other rumors about the new naming system are true) isn’t the only thing the company will announce at WWDC 2025. Here’s how you can watch the keynote livestream. iOS is getting the most dramatic design change in over a decade When Apple introduced a major overhaul to iOS back in 2013 with the launch of iOS 7, it felt jarring for many users with the shift from the prior skeuomorphic design with gradients and real-world textures to the more colorful, but flat, design style that reflected Apple’s then chief design officer Jony Ive’s taste for minimalism. Now, new reports suggest that an upcoming redesign could provoke a similar level of reaction. Reports suggest the new design may have elements referencing visionOS, the software powering Apple’s spatial computing headset, the Apple Vision Pro. If true, that means the new OS could feature a transparent interface and more circular app icons that break away from the traditional square format today. This visual redesign could be implemented across all of Apple’s ecosystem (including even CarPlay), according to Bloomberg, providing a more seamless experience for consumers moving between their different devices. Instead of announcing the next version of iOS as iOS 19, Apple’s operating systems will shift to being named by year. That means we could be set to see the launch of iOS 26 instead, alongside the OSes for other products, including adOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26. Apple may keep the AI news light this year While it might be challenging to top the news related to Apple Intelligence at WWDC 2024, the company is expected to share a few updates on the AI front. The company has seemingly been caught flat-footed in the AI race, making announcements about AI capabilities that had yet to ship, leading even some Apple pundits to accuse the company of touting vaporware. While Apple has launched several AI tools like Image Playground, Genmoji, Writing Tools, Photos Clean Up, and more, its promise of an improved Siri, personalized to the end user and able to take action across your apps, has been delayed. Meanwhile, Apple has turned to outside companies like OpenAI to give its iPhone a boost in terms of its AI capabilities. At WWDC, it may announce support for other AI chatbots, as well. With Jony Ive now working with Sam Altman on an AI hardware device, Apple is under pressure to catch up on AI progress. Additionally, other apps, such as Messages, may receive enhancements with AI capabilities, including a translation feature and polls that offer AI-generated suggestions, per 9to5Mac. Apple will likely make the most of a number of smaller OS updates that involve AI, given its underwhelming progress. Reports suggest that these updates could include AI-powered battery management features and an AI-powered Shortcuts app, for instance. iPhone users may get a dedicated gaming app Bloomberg confirmed a 9to5Mac report that said Apple is developing a dedicated gaming app that will replace the aging Game Center app. The app could include access to Apple Arcade’s subscription-based game store, plus other gaming features like leaderboards, recommendations, and ways to challenge your friends. It could also integrate with iMessage or FaceTime for remote gaming. For instance, macOS may also see the new gaming app and benefit from the new AirPods features. It’s also expected to be named macOS Tahoe, in keeping with Apple’s naming convention that references California landmarks. Apple TV may get a visual overhaul, but also changes to its user interface, the new gaming app, and other features. AirPods to get new features In addition to Messages getting a translation feature, Bloomberg reported that Apple could also bring a live-translate language feature to its AirPods wireless Bluetooth earbuds, allowing real-time translation during conversations. The iPhone will translate spoken words from another language for the user and will also translate the user’s response back into that language. A new report from 9to5Mac also suggests that AirPods may get new head gestures to complement today’s ability to either nod or shake your head to respond to incoming calls or messages. Plus, AirPods may get features to auto-pause music after you fall asleep, a way to trigger the camera via Camera Control with a touch, a studio-quality mic mode, and an improved pairing experience in shared AirPods.
