PlayStation’s annoying regional restrictions on PC games have proved infuriating for gamers all across the world. While most gamers were unaffected, those in some regions found themselves unable to play games like Helldivers 2 and other titles due to the restrictions.
Thankfully, after months of complaints, it appears that PlayStation is finally removing the regional restrictions of its PC releases for a large number of countries. However, not every title has been altered at the time of writing.
Regional restrictions removed from Helldivers 2 and more
As spotted by players online, a number of Steam database updates have changed the regional restrictions of PlayStation games on PC.
Games such as Helldivers 2, Spider-Man 2, God of War: Ragnarok and The Last of Us: Part 2 are now available to purchase in a large number of additional countries. The change appears to be rolling out to PlayStation PC releases at the time of writing.
It’s been a long time coming, and the introduction of the restrictions last year was a huge controversy for the company. Since the restrictions were put in place, players who previously purchased Helldivers 2 were unable to play the title online without a VPN.
Additionally, Ghost of Tsushima could be played in a number of countries, but its Legends multiplayer mode was inaccessible due to the regional issues.
Honestly, PlayStation should’ve removed these restrictions far quicker than they initially did. However, the phrase “better late than never” exists for a reason, and we’re happy that more gamers around the world are no longer punished for simply being born in a different country.
For more PlayStation news, read the company’s recent comments about the next generation PlayStation 6 console. Additionally, read about potential PS Plus price increases that could be on the way as the company aims to “maximise profitability”.

  • This Marvel Rivals hero became unstoppable after the controversial change

Season 2.5 of Marvel Rivals has completely shaken up the competitive meta. Ultron, a new Strategist, has performed much better than the community had expected him to, while Peni Parker has had the highest win rate ever since the season was released. Many other heroes have been changed, but one in particular has surpassed all expectations.
In this article, we will dive deeper into Marvel Rivals win rates in Season 2.5. The situation has drastically changed over the past month, and some of the balance changes have turned out to be the right move.
Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 has skyrocketed Jeff’s win rate
With the release of Season 2.5, NetEase introduced a major rework for Jeff the Land Shark. The fan-favorite Strategist went through ground-breaking changes, which forced players to change their playstyle. Initially, the community believed that Jeff was nerfed to the ground. However, this Marvel Rivals rework has turned out to be the right move.
So far this season, Jeff the Land Shark holds a 46.39% win rate. While this is certainly not impressive, it actually surpasses the win rates of Invisible Womanand Luna Snow, both of whom are considered amazing healers.

In addition to this, Jeff is the hero with the largest win rate increase in comparison to Season 2, as it increased by 4.35%. The only other hero with a comparable change is Peni Parker, whose win rate has jumped by 4.09%.
Jeff is still far from a top-tier character in the game. However, there is no denying that he’s now a viable pick who can keep his teammates alive while also eliminating the enemy team. With Marvel Rivals Season 3 dropping in a few weeks, we expect even more balance changes to come out. While NetEase may buff Jeff even more, he seems to have reached a balanced “sweet spot” that doesn’t require immediate adjustments.

  • Watch Out for Malicious Unsubscribe Links

In addition to the flood of spam texts you receive on a daily basis, your email inbox is likely filled with newsletters, promotions, and other messages that you don't care to read and perhaps don't know why you receive. But you shouldn't just start clicking unsubscribe links, which may open you up to certain cybersecurity risks. Email unsubscribe links may be maliciousWhile email unsubscribe links may seem innocuous, especially if you generally trust the sender, security experts say there are a number of ways in which threat actors can leverage these links for malicious purposes. Like responding to a spam text or answering a spam call, clicking "unsubscribe" confirms that your email address is active, giving cyber criminals an incentive to keep targeting you.In some cases, unsubscribe links can be hijacked to send users to phishing websites, where you are asked to enter your login credentials to complete the process. According to the folks at DNSFilter, one in every 644 clicks of email unsubscribe links can land you on a malicious website. While you do have to confirm your email address in some legitimate cases, you shouldn't enter a password, which is likely a scam. Bottom line: If you don't trust the sender, you certainly shouldn't trust any links contained within the email. How to safely unsubscribe from emails Even if unsubscribe links are safe, it's a pain to go through the multi-step process of clicking through individual emails and opening new browser windows to confirm. To minimize hassle and avoid the risk of malicious links in individual emails, you can use unsubscribe features built into your email client, which are less likely to be compromised by threat actors because they aren't tied to the email itself. In Gmail, tap More > Manage subscriptions in your left-hand navigation barand scroll to the sender. Click Unsubscribe to the right of the number of emails sent recently. You can also unsubscribe from individual emails by opening the message and clicking Unsubscribe next to the sender's name. In some cases, you may be directed to the sender's website to complete the process. You can also mark the message as spam or block the sender. In Outlook, go to Settings > Mail > Subscriptions > Your current subscriptions and select Unsubscribe, then tap OK. Alternatively, you can block the sender by clicking the three dots and selecting Block > OK. Alternatively, you can filter unwanted emails to a different folder, so while you'll still receive them, they won't clog up your main inbox. In Gmail, open the message then click More > Filter messages like these to set up filter criteria, whether that's sending to another folder, deleting it, or marking it as spam. You can create similar rules in Outlook by right-clicking the message in your message list and going to Rules > Create rule. A final option is to use a disposable email alias to subscribe to newsletters and promotional emails or when signing up for accounts, which makes it easy to filter messages or delete the address entirely without affecting your main inbox.

  • Fortnite just announced extended downtime for the next season

The past two days have been very exciting for Fortnite players. The upcoming season was leaked, including its map changes and weapons. On top of this, leakers showed all the new skins coming to the game, split among three seasonal passes. However, before all of this new Fortnite content comes out, there is another downtime that we will have to go through.
Since a new season is around the corner, the Fortnite downtime will last longer than usual. Fortunately, the update is available for pre-download, so console players can grab it and log into the game once the downtime ends.
How long will be the downtime for the new Fortnite season?
The downtime for the new season began at around 2:20 PM Eastern Time, right after the conclusion of the live event. Interestingly, Epic Games announced that the new season would be released on the same day, which is quite unusual. In the past, the game developer mostly released new seasons at either 2 or 4 AM ET. However, this season is different.
The Fortnite creator expects the downtime to last for approximately six hours. This means that the servers should return by 8 PM ET. The downtime could finish sooner as well, although this is an unlikely scenario.
The new Fortnite season will be available after the downtime ends. Image by VideoGamer
It’s important to note that Epic Games is not always 100% accurate with these estimates. However, even in the worst-case scenario, Fortnite servers should come back up by 9 PM, barring any unexpected issues. Epic will provide any necessary updates on the Fortnite Status account on Xand its public server status page.
During the downtime, all Fortnite game modes will be unavailable, including Creative and the World.

Image by VideoGamer It’s important to note that Epic Games is not always 100% accurate with these estimates. For the first time in Fortnite history, Epic Games will release three seasonal passes on the same day. The new season of the Battle Royale mode will introduce another big pass featuring numerous cosmetics and V-Bucks. On the same day, the game developer will also release a new LEGO Pass and the OG Pass. All of them will be included in the Fortnite Crew subscription but also available separately.
On Thursday night, a massive leak revealed everything that’s coming on Saturday. Each seasonal pass was leaked, and now we know most of the skins that will come with them. The leaked images also confirm the theme of the next season.
What will the next Fortnite Battle Pass look like?
As previously leaked, the next Fortnite Battle Pass will bring another Superman skin. This popular DC character was first released in Chapter 2, but Epic will release another variant on Saturday. In addition to him, the Fortnite developer will release Robin and a few more superhero skins.
The OG Pass will bring remixed variants of Teknique, Omega, and The Visitor. Finally, the new LEGO Pass will bring a new skin, while the rest of the items in the pass will mostly be decor bundles for LEGO Fortnite.

Nioh 3 has officially been announced by Koei Tecmo, continuing the developer’s hardcore Soulslike action series on PlayStation 5. Available to try in demo form today, the new enty in the brutal action series makes some major advancements over Nioh 2.
Nioh 3 is more open than before
Confirmed during the latest PlayStation State of Play, Nioh 3 aims to be a massive advancement over its predecessor. Taking a cue from Elden Ring, the new Soulslike focuses on more “open fields” level design instead of the series’ typical linear games.
Alongside the larger environemnts, players won’t only have their usual Samurai style of combat. Instead, players will be able to switch between that and a brand-new Ninja style of fighting with much faster combat than ever before.
Nioh 3 will also continue the series’ trademark difficulty against epic boss fights with players squaring up against many Oni.

IO Interactive has shared its first official look at James Bond’s 007 First light, the studio’s AAA cinematic video game take on the iconic British spy thriller. After years of waiting, we finally have a proper look at the brand-new Bond game from the developers of the amazing Hitman series.
James Bond 007: First Light trailer released
Following the game’s first teaser years ago, IO’s first look at James Bond 007 First Light gives players a huge look at what we can expect from the upcoming action-adventure game. Powered by the team’s in-house Glacier engine, the new game will put players in the shoes of James Bond as he “earns his 007 straps”.
007: First Light will release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC sometime in 2026 and is described as the studio’s first stab at the series. Leaning on the studio’s past stealth expertise with Hitman, players will engage in the expected espionage missions while also getting to engage in some brilliant cinematic set pieces.
“In 007 First Light, follow James Bond as a young, resourceful, and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6’s training program, and discover an origin story of the world’s most famous spy,” reads the game’s synopsis.
“For the first time ever, fans will be able to experience Bond’s ascent at MI6 from a young 26-year-old recruit into a full-fledged spy – immersing them in the exotic and dangerous world of espionage captured in the films,” explains a press release sent to outlets. “Bond’s adventures will take players all around the globe, coming face to face with allies and foes, while choosing how they overcome obstacles and challenges, whether it be with brute force, cunning guile, or charming wit.”
“With 25 years of experience in creating captivating action-adventure games with the HITMAN franchise, our studio has been energized with this monumental opportunity in harnessing that expertise in bringing 007 back to video games,” said Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive. “We’re pouring our energy and passion for the franchise into creating a cinematic adventure that pushes the boundaries of what a James Bond game can be, while telling a fresh, new story. We can’t wait for players and fans to discover an experience tailor-made for them.”
IO Interactive will be revealing more information on 007 First Light later this summer, showing off the game’s deep gameplay systems, more story information and much more.

  • Marvel Rivals’ new Ultron Battle Matrix Mode is so cool I wish it wasn’t limited-time only

You can trust VideoGamer. Our team of gaming experts spend hours testing and reviewing the latest games, to ensure you're reading the most comprehensive guide possible. Rest assured, all imagery and advice is unique and original. Check out how we test and review games here

A brand-new Marvel Rivals game mode is coming to NetEase’s popular hero shooter just after the game’s massive Season 2.5 update. Focusing on the character of Ultron, this new Battle Matrix Protocol mode is so cool that it’s a shame the developers are making it a limited-time only battle.
Marvel Rivals Ultron Battle Matrix Protocol
Starting on June 6, 2025, Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol is joining Marvel Rivals. This new mode will task players with thinking more than they would during an average Rivals match. Running until June 23, 2025, this new game mode offers a brand-new way to play the hero shooter.
In Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol, “only the most tactical minds will survive”. Instead of playing a traditional match of third-person shooting, you’ll be engaging in more of an auto-battler mode with each character having their own stats.
In order to be better than your opponents, you’ll make use of a per-round currency to buy specific modules to enhance your character with better defence, more health or other bonuses. Depending on the hero, some bonuses make more sense than others, and specific hero power-ups can be grabbed as well.
It’s a seriously awesome-looking mode, but it’ll only be playable within the game for a couple of weeks. After the amount of work that must’ve been done to create the mode, it’s a shame that all of that work will be just scrapped after the event is over.
While the event goes on, players will be able to earn some exclusive cosmetics for Ultron, including sprays and more. However, the star of the show really is the brand-new game mode that will only be present for a few weeks.

  • Ultron buff backfires as hero becomes unstoppable in Marvel Rivals

Ultron is the newest Marvel Rivals hero who arrived on May 30. The new Strategist is a mid-season addition, which has turned out to be more powerful than players expected. There has been lots of controversy regarding his release, as he was initially deemed too weak. However, the tables have turned over the past 24 hours.
The initial data from early access suggested that Ultron may be one of the game’s weakest heroes. Due to this, NetEase gave him a powerful buff, drastically enhancing his ultimate ability. Now, after one day of the new season, Ultron is not only the most popular character but also one of the strongest.
What is Ultron’s win rate in Marvel Rivals?
After one day of Season 2.5, Ultron ranks second in Quick Play win rate with 76.09%, trailing only Iron Man. In Competitive, the new hero ranks 15th with a 49.79% win rate. While this is certainly far from amazing, it’s important to note that he is the third most successful Strategist in the game, right behind Rocket Raccoon and Mantis.
Ultron has been a far more effective Strategist than Luna Snow and Invisible Woman, who are among the 10 heroes with the lowest win rate in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5.

The latest update also brought new Team-Up abilities, and one of them involves Ultron. When paired with Iron Man, the flying Strategist gains a new ability that allows him to heal allies and damage enemies at the same time. This Team-Up has been incredible so far, winning 58.40% of games and ranking fifth among synergies.
Although this data reflects only the first 24 hours of Season 2.5, Ultron is expected to maintain his dominance, especially alongside Iron Man. The buff he received on launch day has proven effective, and we expect further balance adjustments in June.
