  • Walking on Arrakis? Sure, if you enjoy the sweet embrace of giant sandworms and the company of bandits who’d rather turn you into a snack than share a cup of spice tea. Why bother when you can craft an array of vehicles that scream, "I’m not here to walk, I’m here to survive!"? Dune: Awakening gives you the chance to zoom past those treacherous dunes instead of trudging through them like a lost tourist on a bad desert safari. So, hop into your craft and embrace the reality that if Arrakis were meant for walking, it wouldn’t be the absolute unit of a planet we all know and love to fear.

  • Ah, *Dune Awakening*! Just when you thought you could escape from the endless grind of “find the spice, fight the sandworms, repeat,” here comes another chance to dive into the vast, sprawling landscape that is as immersive as a sandstorm in your eyes. This title promises to elevate the lore to a whole new level, and by “elevate,” I mean serving it to us like a gourmet dish with just a sprinkle of seasoning. Because, let’s face it, who needs a rich narrative when you can have a beautiful desert to stare at while you click buttons?

In the grand tradition of Funcom, where Conan Exiles taught us that lore is merely a side dish to the main course of survival, *Dune Awakening* boldly asserts that the story will have a “high seat at the table.” This is great news for those of us who enjoy complex narratives mixed with our pixelated battles. Just remember, that high seat doesn’t mean it’s the main course; it’s more like the fancy napkin folded into a swan shape that no one really cares about.

As we gear up for this epic adventure, let’s ponder the critical question: "How long until you hit the endgame?" For those experienced in the ways of online gaming, this is a question that requires a strong cup of spice-infused coffee and a hearty laugh. Because let’s be real: “endgame” is just a euphemism for the moment you realize you’ve spent countless hours collecting virtual sand and have learned more about the spice economy than your own.

Picture this: you’re in the middle of an epic quest, and suddenly, the allure of the endgame starts to sparkle like a mirage in the desert. Will it be worth the grind? Or will we all just end up like Paul Atreides, wondering if all this spice was really worth the trouble? Remember, the lore is the garnish on the plate, and no one ever leaves a restaurant raving about the parsley.

So, here’s to *Dune Awakening*! May it provide us endless hours of wandering through vast dunes, fighting off sandworms, and contemplating the meaning of life while keeping an eye on our spice levels. And let’s not forget the thrill of finding out that the real endgame is the friends we made along the way—who also happen to have spent just as many hours as we have staring blankly at their screens, wondering what on earth we’re doing with our lives.

After all, as we embark on this journey, one thing is for sure: whether we reach the endgame or not, we’ll all be united in our shared confusion and love for a game that promises to give us everything and nothing at all. So grab your stillsuit and get ready for the ride; it’s going to be a long, sandy road!

  • So, I guess if you’re wandering around Arrakis in Dune Awakening, you might be wondering where to find aluminum. Yeah, that’s a thing. It’s not like there’s much else to do on this barren planet, right? You log in, look around, and think, “Great, now I need to hunt for aluminum.” It’s one of those resources that everyone talks about, but honestly, it feels like a hassle just to gather it.

You’ll probably want to check out some of the caves or maybe dig around in the sandy dunes. Apparently, there are a few spots that are known for having aluminum deposits. But, like, do you really want to spend your time doing that? I mean, it could be fun for a minute, but it’s mostly just running around in the sun, trying not to get eaten by giant sandworms or whatever.

Also, it’s not like there are guides everywhere, so you’ll have to rely on word of mouth or whatever you can find on the internet. But who has the energy for that? You can end up wandering aimlessly, and let’s be real, that’s not the most exciting way to spend your game time.

You might hear some players say they found aluminum near the Spice fields, but how reliable is that information? It’s like a game of telephone. One person sees something shiny, tells everyone, and then it turns out to be a rock or something. Classic.

And when you finally do find aluminum, what’s next? You just sit there wondering what to do with it. Maybe you can craft some gear or trade it, but honestly, by that time, you’re probably just ready to log off and take a nap. I mean, who needs the stress of resource gathering on a planet like Arrakis?

So, if you’re still interested in hunting for aluminum on Arrakis, good luck, I guess. Just don’t expect it to be the highlight of your gaming experience. More like a chore you’re obligated to do, rather than something that’ll get your adrenaline pumping.

Sabella pavonina, commonly known as the peacock worm, is a species of marine polychaete worm in the family Sabellidae. It can be found along the coasts of western Europe and the Mediterranean Sea, in shallow, tidal waters with a bed of mud, sand or gravel. The worm is 10 to 25 centimetresin length, with its body divided into 100 to 600 small segments. The head has two fans of 8 to 45 feathery radioles arising from fleshy, semi-circular lobes. The body is mostly grey-green while the radioles are brown, red or purple with darker bands. This group of S. pavonina worms was photographed with a short-snouted seahorse in a protected marine natural area near Porto Cesareo, Italy.

In a crowded field full of online survival sims, Dune: Awakening is kicking up storm. The adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novels lets players build bases, rid sand worms, and smash Ornithopters into one another. That last part has become a problem, and the developers are already looking into a fix. Suggested Reading10 Minutes From The Last Of Us Part II’s Roguelike Mode

Share SubtitlesOffEnglishDune’s Ornithopters are helicopters shaped like dragonflies. In Dune: Awakening, they’re one of the many vehicles players can build that serve as both a resource and an end-goal of sorts. They require a lot of equipment and resources to craft if you’re playing solo, which is why most of them belong to players working in groups. It turns out that they’re pretty indestructible too, making them lethal weapons for ramming enemy players with in PVP. Reddit user Bombe18 shared his run-in with Dune: Awakening’s man-made scourge in a recent clip that blew up on the subreddit showing him repeatedly being accosted by multiple Ornithopters. Shooting at them does nothing. They’re unscathed by constantly smashing into the ground on top of him. At one point, he tries to wall-jump off a ledge and stab one. “Yeah sorry about this,” wrote game director Joel Bylos. “We have people working on fixing the goomba stomping ASAP.”Players have been debating the role of Ornithopters in Dune: Awakening since its beta tests last year. On the one hand, they’re a lot of fun and a cool reward for players to build toward. On the other, they sort of trivialize trying to travel around the desert and survive, the two things the game is supposed to be about. They can also shoot missiles, completely dominating the ground game. Now that’s real desert power. In terms of stopping players from griefing one another with Ornithopters, there are a few different suggestions. Some players just want the vehicles not to be able to be used as weapons at all. Others want them isolated to specific PVP areas. Another solution is to make it easier to destroy them. “Seems like they should just make guns deal more damage to them,” wrote one player. “They’d think twice about doing this if their orni could get wrecked by gunfire.” Another wrote, “Make Deep Desert crashes do significant damage. Two crashes or something past a certain physics threshold should disable the vehicle.”However the developers decide to address the recent outbreak of Ornithopter “goomba stomping,” Dune: Awakening is having a great launch so far. Out earlier this week on PC, it’s nearing a 90 percent positive rating on Steam with almost 20,000 reviews. The concurrent player-count is very healthy, too, peaking at just under 150,000 heading into the weekend. Unfortunately, console players will have to wait a bit to build Ornithropters of their own. A PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S release isn’t planned until sometime in 2026. .
