[Full Film HD Version] Working Class British Comedy Drama, Duty of Care is about two men, both white, both over 50, both ex forces, filmed on location in Llandudno. The film explores contemporary social issues, particularly focusing on the social care system and the struggles of retired veterans living in civilian life. It stars Bruce Jones and Jack Marsden, both of whom were praised for their performances by renowned director Ken Loach.It was writer director Asa Bailey's first independent film project, which he wrote, directed, financed, and produced himself to maintain creative control and make what he calls an "honest film". "Duty of Care" premiered at the 1st Coastline Film Festival in 2015, where Bruce Jones won the best actor award. It also received the Film of Merit Award at the North Wales International Film Festival in 2016. The film's style has been described as reminiscent of the new wave British cinema movement. This theme was influenced by contemporary literature and theater, such as John Osbornes Look Back in Anger.By describing Bailey's film as reminiscent of this movement, it suggests that Cream (later renamed Duty of Care) shares a similar commitment to portraying social issues realistically, with a focus on working-class struggles or interpersonal dynamics grounded in everyday life.The movie's plot revolves around Major Ron Harris (played by Bruce Jones) and his new care giver, Garry Saunders (played by Jack Marsden).
