SCI-Arc research on Los Angeles wildfires to be exhibited at Venice Biennale

A team from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) will exhibit material at the 2025 Venice Biennale focusing on the escalating risks of wildfires in Los Angeles; risks exacerbated by climate change. Led by Graduate Programs Chair Elena Manferdini, the SCI-Arc team is one of six schools to exhibit their findings in the French Pavilion at the Biennale, with each school examining a unique territory and type of risk ranging from water and earth to fire and air.The SCI-Arc project began in the Fall of 2024 with the Atlas of Risks studio envisioning a new planet to illustrate nature and environmental risks intensified by climate change, with a focus on wildfires in Los Angeles.
