Tarkov is even more stable now. Credit: Battlestate GamesEver since the last wipe, things have been a little quiet in the world of Escape From Tarkov. There hasnt been much in the way of new content, or even teases for new content, theres been no real surprise events, and we are still waiting for any kind of info on the launch plans. But there seems to be a good reason for that, as it has now been revealed that over 200 bugs have been fixed in Tarkov this year alone.Last year in the TarkovTV live streams, the Tarkov development team consistently spoke about their plans to clean up the game, especially with the big engine switch that came with the last wipe. While that change actually went a lot smoother than many were expecting, it was clear that Tarkov was not in the best place from a technical perspective. While news on how that mission has been going has been a little thin on the ground, it has now been revealed that since the start of the year over 200 different bugs have been fixed in Tarkov. Nikita Buyanov, the Escape From Tarkov game director, revealed this number on his social media accounts, and promised that even more fixes and further performance improvements will be coming very soon. Its impossible to please every Tarkov fan out there, but for me taking this time to improve the technical side of the game is a great idea. Tarkov is, at best, a fairly unstable game and when the stakes can be pretty high, dying to a bug is infuriating and enough to stop people playing. Now, with hopefully fewer bugs, that should happen less and will likely mean more players stick around when the full launch rolls around.Of course, with Tarkov now firmly in its mid-wipe phase, interest in the game is starting to drop off somewhat. As revealed by Buyanov last year, the PvE is growing in popularity as players start to drop the PvP mode as the wipe goes on, so it would not be a surprise to see some in game events start up reasonably soon to entice PvP players back. But, we also know that the development team is now gearing up for the full launch of Escape From Tarkov, which is expected to happen sometime this year, potentially as soon as Q2. That could mean we have a few quieter months as content is prepared for the big launch. Either way, having a more stable Tarkov is certainly not a bad thing.
