In 1982, the two hottest properties among the two companiescollided in a well-received one-off issue calledThe Uncanny X-Men and the New Teen Titans.In the 1990s, there was a slew of crossover comicsfrom the two companies includingBatman/Punisher: Lake of Fire,Green Lantern/Silver Surfer: Unholy Alliances,Batman and Captain America,Batman and Spider-Man, and evenDarkseid vs. Galactus: The Hunger.In 1996, the two companies released a hugemini-series calledDC Versus Marvel(orMarvel Versus DC,depending on which publisher released that particular issue), which saw characters from each fictional universe battle, with the outcomes determined in some cases by reader votes.
