The future of XCOM remains unknown, but if the franchise does make a return, a veteran of the series would like to take a stab at it again. In a new interview, X-COM creator Julian Gollop revealed how he'd like to return to XCOM in some capacity if he was ever offered the chance to do so, and he was more than happy to still be affiliated with it after so many years."I am perfectly happy being known as the XCOM guy," Gollop said to Eurogamer. "I mean, it was a foundational game in my career, and probably also, in some ways, a foundational strategy game in strategy gaming at the time--even though not long after it came out, the real-time-strategy scene really took over."Gollop jokingly mentioned that he was "still waiting" for a call from Firaxis boss Sid Meier to come work on a new X-COM game, and currently, he is working on a real-time action-strategy title called Chip 'n Clawz vs. the Brainiods.
