Bofill Taller de Arquitectura has shared images of their new project in the coastal town of Dhrmi, Albania, called Red Sol. The resort recalls several of the late Spanish architects 1970s apartment buildings, including theLa Muralla Roja and Walden 7. The design is indelibly shaped by the rocky coastal terrain, necessitating the placement of a fine grid to cover the ground plan that, in turn, serves as its spatial organization framework.Image by MIR, courtesy of Bofill Taller de ArquitecturaThe choice of a bright cardinal color palette isolates it against the sea and landscape while highlighting its "earthly" materiality.Image by MIR, courtesy of Bofill Taller de ArquitecturaViewed in section, however, the design appears to shift up and down with a distinct vertical effect that resembles a mountain, with varying heights used to distinguish its three programmatic differences: hotel pavilions, apartments, and small villas.Image by MIR, courtesy of Bofill Taller de Arquitectura...
