It was a record-breaking weekend on Steam, propelled in part by Monster Hunter Wilds becoming the platform's No. 5 title of all time for concurrent players. The action-adventure game had over 1.3 million people looking to take down fantastical beats on Saturday--and that number doesn't even include PS5 and Xbox Series X|S users.Steam itself saw over 40 million users for the first time ever on Sunday. The new peak players online total for Steam now sits exactly at 40,263,524. Speaking of specific numbers, Monster Hunter Wilds hit 1,384,608 concurrent players on Valve's platform on Saturday, per SteamDB. The Capcom title is only behind PUBG, Black Myth: Wukong, Palworld, and Counter-Strike 2 on Steam's all-time chart for peak concurrent players. It was just in August when Black Myth: Wukong became No. 2 all time for Steam concurrent players with over 2.2 million people. A little over a year ago, Palworld passed 2 million concurrent players on Steam, at the time becoming only the second game to ever do so on Valve's platform.
