Nonresidential construction spending up slightly in January as tariff concerns abound

The latest Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data published by the U.S. Census Bureau has indicated a slight (0.1%) increase in nonresidential construction spending nationwide for the month of January. On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, nonresidential spending totaled just under $1.25 trillion.Spending was up on a monthly basis in 12 of the 16 nonresidential subcategories. Private nonresidential spending remained unchanged, while public nonresidential construction spending also went up 0.2% in January.
