Pro Skater 3 and 4 are over 20 years old so they could definitely do with a face lift (Activision)Activision will be unveiling a new Tony Hawks Pro Skater game later today, but it seems all the key details have leaked ahead of schedule.Last September, Tony Hawk himself confirmed that Activision was doing something new with the Tony Hawks Pro Skater series, after seemingly abandoning it again despite the success of the Pro Skater 1 + 2 remake.A couple of weeks ago, another professional skateboarder let slip that a new Pro Skater game was in the works and, sure enough, shortly after that Activision began teasing an announcement set to take place later today. Its widely believed that the announcement is for another pair of remakes, for Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 and 4 (which were already known to be in development at one point, before being cancelled), but it appears all the details have already leaked out.According to Dealabs billbil-kun, who has a near 100% record with video game related retail leaks (like Split Fictions name and release date), the new game is indeed Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 + 4 and its slated to launch on July 11 this year.As is increasingly common for prominent game releases, billbil-kun adds that anyone who purchases the deluxe or collectors edition will receive three days of early access.Additionally, pre-orders for any version of the game will come with a Wireframe Tony Shader (a cosmetic of some kind, presumably) and access to a demo featuring the Foundry, the first level of Pro Skater 3.The most surprising detail though, is that the deluxe edition will come with the Doom Slayer and a Revenant enemy from Bethesdas Doom games as playable skaters, alongside a skateboard themed after the Unmakyr weapon and music tracks. If accurate, no doubt this is Microsofts idea since it owns both Activision and Bethesda, making it much easier for such crossovers to happen. While this may seem bizarre, the Tony Hawk games already have a history of including characters from other franchises, such as Star Wars, Marvel, and Shrek. In fact, the original Pro Skater 3 had Doom Slayer (or Doomguy as he was then) as a secret unlockable. He was only in the PC version but, presumably, the new Doom content will be available across all platforms and not be limited to the Xbox version. How much will Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 cost?According to billbil-kun, a regular copy of Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 + 4 will cost $49.99. So, it will likely cost somewhere between 40 and 50 here in the UK.The deluxe edition, meanwhile, will cost $69.99, which is approximately 55. The collectors edition will cost $129.99, which is equivalent to 102, so Microsoft will probably round that up to 110 or so.Speaking of platforms, billbil-kun states that Pro Skater 3 + 4 is planned for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Although it sounds like the collectors edition will only be available for consoles.More TrendingAn official reveal is slated to take place today at 6pm GMT, according to this countdown on the Pro Skater website, so well be sure to update this article with the confirmed details and, hopefully, a trailer.Itll be interesting to see if Pro Skater 3 + 4 will meet the same level of quality as the previous Tony Hawk remakes, since they wont have the same developer. Vicarious Visions handled Pro Skater 1 + 2 and despite doing an excellent job it was downgraded to a support studio for the Diablo series and rebranded as Blizzard Albany. As for this new Tony Hawk game, the official website includes the logo for Iron Galaxy, seemingly giving away that its helming the project. Although not a Microsoft owned studio, Iron Galaxy has close ties with the publisher, having handled the Killer Instinct reboot; it also helped port Pro Skater 1 + 2 to PC. Heres hoping these new remakes are just as good as the last ones (Activision)Emailgamecentral@metro.co.uk, leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter, andsign-up to our newsletter. To submit Inbox letters and Readers Features more easily, without the need to send an email, just use ourSubmit Stuff page here. For more stories like this, check our Gaming page.GameCentralSign up for exclusive analysis, latest releases, and bonus community content. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
